Rare DaKahuna Posted August 29, 2022 #26 Share Posted August 29, 2022 I am sorry but there are only two ‘favorite’ mix drinks that are my dat to day go to drinks - long island iced tea and a Zacapa Old Fashioned. I will start exploring for Ron Zacapa on Quantum tomorrow but in the mean time, I am enjoying my 2nd LIT.

Kind of like "Fosters" which is advertised as "Australian, for beer". It's considered swill there.

If he is...but most likely not in the VCL any longer...unless rotated back. DO look him up! They were rotating the bartenders every two weeks to various bars on board. Ask around when you get on board if he is there...and where. Please tell him Patricia and Bucky miss him and I want the Bruno special again! (AKA Vodka Sour). 😉 He was on the Explorer last week. Nice guy

Very true about Fosters. Its more what the term ‘black and tan’ represents in Ireland. Absolutely no way would I be ordering a drink called that in Ireland or any Irish bar. To then proceed to tell them how to make it is only asking for real upset, just my opinion.

Ask for a black and tan in a Dublin pub and you may be surprised at the reaction of the locals. The Black and tans were special constables sent by London to quell any rebellion by the Irish prior to independence. 2

We loved getting to the VCL bar early before he got busy with the 5 pm walk ins. Great stories he had to tell. 🙂
The Sunset Glow Posted August 31, 2022 #34 Share Posted August 31, 2022 I'm not a huge fan of sweet/thick drinks either and prefer light/refreshing ones. The Lavender Daquiri in the Schooner Bar is my new favorite drink - I usually think of daquiris as thick, sweet, frozen drinks but this one is more like a martini and served in a martini glass. I did not find this one in any other bar other than the schooner bar but did not check them all lol. It seems to be a Schooner bar specialty. The Seabreeze has been my go-to drink for years. You can find it at any bar that has grapefruit juice in their inventory.

Rare island lady Posted September 3, 2022 #36 Share Posted September 3, 2022 Kind of like in Mexico....the locals don't like Corona. Sol is more popular. 😉

Rare OCSC Mike Posted September 3, 2022 #38 Share Posted September 3, 2022 As an aside, since a couple people mentioned Long Islands, give "The Pitch" a shot next time you have access to a Playmakers. It's a slightly altered LIIT with midori and sprite and has a funky green color. My only issue, like with Long Islands, is that it's not made consistently due to all the ingredients so one will taste better than another. Open app and tap the little head and shoulder on the top line, then tap 'select a different sailing.' Tap 'get more details on ships we support' then tap the ship you are interested in. Tap this weeks sailing and then dinning and bars and lounges Under each bar is a drinks menu. You can also use this method to check dinning menus in the MDR and specialist restaurants and what type of entertainment they have (though headline acts will change for future sailings) This is this week's oasis sailing schooner bar, just keep scrolling down for full menu That is a brilliant tip !! Thank you 🙂 .
