Pricing for the Beyond is Beyond reason here

Apologies in advance for the winge.

Sanity check please:  12/26 Western Caribbean 8 day cruise. Sky Suite for……..wait for it…..$12,300/pp—that’s $1,530 per person per day…for a Sky Suite!  Granted there are only 2 left (as of now), but….! Then there are the 10 available Aqua Sky Suites for a paltry $14,200/pp, or $1,775/pp per day.  I know, the Beyomd is “the new thing”, but am I the only one who finds this insane??

Celebrity seems to have forgotten that they're still a mass market cruise line. Keep pricing like this and they will quickly lose customers to Oceania et al. I love Celebrity, but the product is not worth $1500 pp/pd.

Suites seem to sell out at even the elevated prices. Celebrity would be crazy given the current environment to get less than the market dictates., I would not book at the prices, but others would.

That is probably the most expensive week to cruise all year and it is their newest and shiniest. Not saying its worth that price but it's all supply and demand. The price drops by 60% a couple weeks later.

We have an SS on the 1/29/23 sailing for about $388pppd. Granted that seemed to be a short-lived steal, but it happens.

I love to cruise...but there's a limit...🙂

This past June we cruised the Mediterranean (Barcelona roundtrip) for 21 days on the Regal Princess in a Penthouse Suite.

Just over 20k for the two of us.  Including drinks, wifi, gratuities, and Club Class anytime dining. Not to mention an incredible itinerary.

Granted the Regal isn't the Beyond...but it'll do in a pinch 🤣

And I wouldn't want to be in the airports during that crazy period anyways!

But they sell, quite well, even at those prices. And from the RGC perspective, pushing people to the even higher prices at Silversea isn't a bad thing.

I'll be very interested in seeing the prices for the new Crystal once they are released. They may have some bargains to attract passengers at the start and the prices will go way up after the initial offerings. They might be initially less per day than Celebrity. Crystal is a true luxury line.

Well if I were looking to sail at that time with a big budget, they would have probably pushed me to a competitor like Seabourn. I just priced out Ovation for 11 nights for about $570 pp/pn. That's 1/3 what OP quoted for a suite on Beyond. I don't know much about the Seabourn product, but at that discount, I sure would be willing to find out.

Even for my Iceland cruise next summer, I nearly went with Oceania over Celebrity. It's not a heck of a lot more than what I'm paying for just a regular balcony on Summit, but it's one day shorter and I prefer the Celebrity itinerary. That said, it was a close call and I still have time to change my mind.

Posts like these and my own recent research have been eye-openers. Celebrity is no longer an automatic for me, not at the new price points they're asking for suites.

Corporations are all about revenue and profitability, X is no different.  There appears to be no rate resistance whatsoever for Retreat Class on Edge Series, and X knows it.  Until this changes (which I don't foresee in the near future), expect high pricing on all Suite categories.

Brand new ship, over the Holidays...if they can get it, more power to them.  I'll get on the Equinox and enjoy myself.

Celebrity is counting on well-heeled guests not bothering to try luxury cruise lines because they are comfortable with Celebrity.  I've cruised on Oceania.  Its superior to Celebrity.  But it's also 2-3 times the price of a regular Celebrity veranda so I cruise on both lines.

But $3000 a night for a sky suite?  Even if it does include the premium drink package...no.

They are definitely pricing Beyond higher, but they seem to be at market. We passed on Beyond next fall for Equinox for a 30% savings on a longer cruise.

But, if the market is paying it, they're by definition not overpriced. When people stop paying, the prices will adjust. And I read a short but interesting business finance article today really questioning how RCG can continue to service its debt with rising interest rates. If they can sell at those prices, they need to...

It's not necessarily just Edge class ships.  On an upcoming cruise of mine on Summit, which is by now sold out, the few suites that were left were selling at outrageous prices, albeit slightly less than this.  Supply and demand.  As long as they can get people to pay those prices the rest of us peons (said tongue in cheek🙂) will need to sail in our standard balconies or AQ cabins.  And it really depends on the sailing as well, not just the ship.  I booked a B2B in a Royal Suite in March which was roughly half what I would have paid for a Sky Suite on the aforementioned Summit cruise.

Yep,

A Sky suite on my Beyond cruise on 10/26 is now $19,000 for two.  Crazy.

I am so grateful I booked ours a year ago and got a casino rate discount.

At these prices, I don't know if I'll be going on another Celebrity cruise anytime soon.

Indeed they would…maybe they need new friends who they’ll take on a NYE cruise!!  I’m happy to go, just not pay. 🥳

I recently booked a balcony on the Beyond for a Dec 11 sailing.  Repriced and upgraded to concierge class last week and saved $500.  Total now for 2 is $2500.  Still more than I like to spend on a 7 night, but we decided to splurge to get on the newest ship.  I would never entertain the suite prices on Celebrity....and its not just celebrity, suite prices on every cruise line I look like are out of control.  But I guess people are paying it.

That has to be sail only rate…it seems my balconies are always around $3000-3500 all in premium drinks, grats, etc…

I booked Beyond for its spring 2023 TA; prices have gone up almost 7,000 for an an S1.  I booked a Sunset Suite when they were first released, getting the pick of the litter!  Yes, I am grateful that i could still afford it.  There are still people with FCC and some money to burn, so the demand is still strong.

I am also on a 12 night cruise in the Eastern Med where over 65+ suites are available because they did not sell well at $15,000 for an S3.  The bidding has begun!  i booked an SV, so it might just be a suite for a lot less.
