OBC Question

Go into Manage your reservation and then excursions. It should then be displayed, if the OBC is from Celebrity.

If it’s from a TA, it’s not displayed on your account until you are on board.

MKe sure you take your invoice on board with you, in case there is a dispute.

Sorry to change subjects....But how can I cash out OBC given to us by Celebrity for booking a cruise from which the original one was cancelled by Celebrity due to covid.?...I know you can on RCI in the casino.

You'll get some different answers here, but there's plenty for you to read.

Search here using "casino" and "OBC"

Our personal experience, after a total of 10+ hours on the phone and speaking to various high level supervisors, is we could not cash out our OBC since we had not elected to take cash at the time the cruise was cancelled for Covid.  We used the OBC to pay for cruises last fall.  (OBC doesn't pay for Fuel & taxes, so we used our credit card for that.)

No way will we be able to use $900 OBC on our upcoming cruise.

That’s what I thought, especially as there were no iPads for sale.

I managed it though, by buying a great deal of our Christmas & birthday  presents.

We also had 2 lunches at the Porch on Sea days.

The Captain’s Club host also checked the price of excursions which we had already bought. They were quite a bit more expensive, so we didn’t cancel and re book, but it was an option that she suggested.

Cruisestitch has compiled a wonderful list of ways to spend OBC, do a search.

Over the years we have managed to spend our OBC with ease…Bigger items like iPads, cameras and watches easily swallow most of it but when we have had a surplus we have used it for additional tips, presents for relations…Remember you can spend it on speciality dining and spa treatments too.

It depends on the duration of the cruise and whatever promotions they are offering at the time you book

Does room type ever influence amount of OBC?

Thank you!

Can you post...I can't seem to find the list.

We're low key cruisers (over 45 with RCI and this will only be our 2nd with X) we're not spa or specialty dining kinda people or cruiseline excursions and as far as buying things on the ship...Meh !!

I appreciate your help...cashing in OBC on RCI is relatively easy in the casino....and was hoping it would be similar on Celebrity.

Thanks again

No idea but we're staying in a Sky Suite on Eclipse for the Hawaii-Vancouver next May. I thought our $900 OBC was for rebooking an X cancelled cruise but on second thought it may just have been the promo for the category when I booked.

Yes. For table games,  you go to the cashier and ask for an amount of obc and you will be given promotional chips. These will be changed to  playing chips at the table. After a few plays, win or lose, you can cash out your chips at the table, then take those to the cashier for $. There were instructions at the cashiers widow on how to use OBC on slots on Equinox in July. We love playing on Celebrity's money!

Thank you for replying.

Trying out Celebrity on two cruises next year, both in Edge Villas.

A seven night Caribbean cruise has given me good OBC, while my 11 night Mediterranean cruise came with really good OBC.

We book Sky Suites on Celebrity cruises and we get between $300 and $450 pp OBC for booking the Retreat.  Last month we had $800 for our Reflection cruise and had no problems using it all. Some went to shore excursions and some for 2 very nice Tommy Bahama shirts I bought onboard. Next year on the Apex we have a very nice $1150 OBC.

I’m in an Edge Villa in October for a 14 day TA and I have $800 OBC, traveling solo.  I’m only doing one ship excursion and the behind the scenes tour, so I’ve been wracking my brain about how to spend the rest of the OBC, thanks for planting the Tommy Bahama seed…👍

I was surprised at the selection of Tommy Bahama shirts onboard. I bought a very nice Hawaiian shirt and a great and comfortable golf shirt. The Hawaiian shirt I wore for the Evening Chic nights.  The prices for both were the same as I would have paid at a shore TB store. The ship store also had some TB shorts but I ran out of OBC.
