I am enjoying the pictures of your morning cappuccinos as a nice change of pace compared to the usual plethora of delicious but hi calorie meals.

Ha, so here’s this morning’s for you.
But we way overindulged in Toscana last night. So some food porn to follow later.

Good to hear she is doing so well

I remember when you first  cruised O with her

Nice to see her getting on with life

Thank you, thank you!

Her first Oceania cruise was my first Oceania cruise — 14 days on the Regatta, Stockholm to St. Petersburg to London, June 2004.  Seems like forever ago.  We also sailed together on what ended up as the Riviera’s maiden voyage, Venice to Athens.  We both had the joy of sailing with two of Cruise Critic’s most famous posters on that maiden voyage Don Horner and JimandStan. I hope they are both sailing and posting away in the next life.

Our 1st O cruise on Insignia  2004  also

How things have changed with them 😉

Enjoy the cruise  & time with your family

Starting to fall behind on posting Live, which is fairly typical for me.

Let’s catch up to last night’s dinner at Toscana. First off — Amazing time, food, and wine. Service was beyond great. May be a touch influenced though by the all the attention given by the staff, from top of house on down, to Shannon for her birthday.

A big shout out to my also amazing TA. I know, no names. But her mom is big time TA with Oceania as well as a frequent poster here. TA helped be arrange for Oceania to bake a gluten free cake. Wait until you see photo. Small nominal cost, but holy cow! Beautiful and probably the best cake I’ve ever tasted, GF or otherwise. Thank you my unnamed TA and Oceania!

Everything about the dinner was what I remember as Oceania. One bust dish (stuffed lamb), but everything else crazy good. I know all food posts are subjective, which is certainly true. But I noticed no “slippage” in last night’s dinner as compared to anything pre-Covid.

Polo tonight! And now some food porn. (And some bday pics. Probably multiple posts.)

Well, I’ve completely fallen apart posting. Arrived in San Francisco yesterday and have been running around the city having fun.

We are docked out at Pier 30. Basically under the Bay Bridge. Basically nothing here. I think it’s just over a mile to the Ferry Building and 2.5 miles to Pier 39 (Fisherman’s Wharf).

No matter, adds some extra miles of walking to work off the food and drink we’ve been enjoying in the city.

Here’s a photo of the dock location.

Yesterday’s activities included, walk to the Ferry Building for gluten free savory buckwheat crepes. Followed by treats from Mariposa Bakery — one of the best gluten free bakeries in the country.

We then walked to Pier 39 and then took the electric F Train back down to the Ferry Building. Then hiked up to the Golden Gate Theatre to see the play To Kill A Mockingbird, starring Richard Harris playing Atticus Finch. It was fantastic!

Did you perhaps see Richard Thomas in "Mockingbird"?  The Richard Harris I'm familiar with has been dead for quite a while.

Oh boy, that’s some miss. Yes, Richard Thomas. (Although I was a big fan of Richard Harris as well!)

More walking after the play. First down the Palace Hotel to see the lobby. Spectacular (sorry, no photo yet). Then over to Union Square and up the hill to the Fairmont Hotel and the famous Tonga Room for some Tiki Cocktails and appetizers.

Finally, grabbed a cab to the Mission District and dinner at an amazing restaurant  — Foreign Cinema. Cab back to pier and last ashore drink at the best named dive bar I’ve ever seen (at least for black humor) — the Hi Dive. Hi Dive sits directly under the Bay Bridge.

It was quite the day!

What A Market😎

My husband and I are on this cruise with you.  Love seeing your beautiful family aboard.  We are taking our daughter/son in law on this itinerary can’t wait for our 50th anniversary.  They are such foodies they will have a ball.

I agree with you it’s been a fun, relaxing cruise with such a wonderful crew.

Hi Bonnie and What A Market. I board Regatta on 21 October so was wondering f you could list a few of the crew. I’m particularly interested in the GM, the CD and perhaps the Club Ambassador.

TIA,

Dean

Dear W.A.M.:

Thank you for your updates and photographs.  Two brief questions regarding "things on the ship".  Is the string quartet playing at the afternoon tea and before dinner and are the staff wearing masks?  I hope that you and your family continue to have a wonderful cruise.
