I made final payment and did receive the second credit a few days after payment.

So I've had a very irritating experience using this offer.

 

I had paid in full my Feb. cruise on a different credit card.  Two weeks later this offer came out and I immediately put it on my Amex everyday card.  Then called my TA and asked her if NCL would be able to change the credit card so I can use this offer,  She called NCL and the person she spoke to said yes.

 

I gave her my Amex cc# and got the "congratulations" email from Amex.  So now waiting for the credit on the original card. 

 

Five days later I got an email from Amex that they are crediting back my purchase through NCL.  TA calls NCL again to ask why and this time they told her she got misinformation and you can only change credit cards up to 48 hours.    Two days later the statement credit of $350 was removed.

 

We called Amex ourselves to see if this offer would be put back on our account and they told us yes.  So far it wasn't.  We have opened up an inquiry through Amex but have not yet heard anything.  I would have liked to use this for another cruise or OBC but I'm afraid I have lost this offer for good.

Different company and situation but may apply.   I have a chase card and used ultimate rewards points for a hotel reservation that I canceled.   The cancel email said it can take one or two billing cycles for rewards points to be credited back.

Yes, the reward disappears from your offers once it is used. Good luck trying to get it back even though they rescinded the credit, this sounds difficult. Just keep moving up on the food chain until you hopefully get someone who can accommodate your request.

booked another free casino cruise yesterday and finally got over the $1000 threshold. (admin fees, port fees/taxes)

 

but havent gotten the  "congratulations" email from Amex yet?

normally when i reach the threshold of their offer, i get a  "congratulations" email that same day.

 

Hopefully i get it tomorrow.

Have you checked your account online or chatted online with them or called them? I recently got some of those congratulatory e-mails so late that it took me a while to figure out what they were for.

thx. 

i chatted with amex. my purchases will qualify me for the $350.

i asked why didnt i get the usual congratulations email and he just copy/pasted that the $350 will show up in my acct in up to 90 days 🥴

Glad it worked. They always say up to 90 days, but it is always much quicker.

 

The ones that took a week or more for the congratulatory e-mails actually posted to the account much quicker, only a few days.

I either get the congrats email immediately after I've satisfied the offer or I don't get one at all, then I just wait till I get my bill.

 

Only 1 time did I have a problem when I didn't get the congrats email and it was for like $10.

$350 makes it worth the effort to find out now

It used to be that way for me, but now sometimes the congratulations e-mail seems to come very late.

 

And it really does not take that much time or hassle to either call them or do the online chat.

In reading the "fine print" for the AmEx $350 refund offer, it said the payment had to be done online?  But I see above a person had luck getting the refund by paying through their NCL cruise consultant.  Is it correct that the AmEx card number can be given to an NCL agent by phone?  TIA

i made my reservations with a person in casinos at sea.

 

i got this 3 days after i satisfied the $1k threshold:

Dec 1 Credit USD RESERVATION CORAL GABLES  -$350.00
 
never got the congrats email from amex.
 
now i have an annoying $80 credit on my acct.
the $350 credit is $80 more than the last cruise i booked.
 
and i dont plan on using the credit card again till another promo.
so i'll automatically get a check in 2-3 months because amex doesnt like wasting $ sending my statements where they're not making $

I didn't get the congratulations email, but double checked the AMEX account and the $350 credit shows up 1 day after we applied the $1,000 to our Bermuda Joy sailing.  As long as we got it!

 

I'll be happy to have another...and another...and another!  Always nice to have that extra savings!
