14 Day MDR Question

Hi, I'm sailing on a 14 day Nieuw Statendam sailing...is the MDR menu just the normal 7 day repeated twice?

Not in my experience.  Now, there will be similarities from menu to menu, but not exactly the same menu on subsequent nights.

To be clear, I'm asking is the menu for days 1-7, repeats on days 8-14

On the top of the mdr menus in the app it says 9 days cycle.

Depends if it is being sold as a 7 day cruise, which you have booked as a B2B 14 day cruise, or as a true 14 day cruise.

I didn't see that, but I don't understand that...7 days are cycled for sure...

A true 14 will have 14 different menus. Was just on an 18 day cruise that had18 different menus. Not to say a couple items weren't repeated,  like prime rib, but the menus were unique.

What happens  with the daily  dinner menus when  you book a 7 night to the Mexican Riviera & a B2B 5 night Mexican Riviera with some  different ports involved ?

Most of the menus will repeat.

 We thought that so we have booked  Camaletto  ,Tamarind  & Pinnacle for dinners during the 2 cruises  .however ,we never miss the last night of the cruise in the MDR  😁

I studied this in detail before our 14 day Rotterdam cruise and the answer is yes they do repeat but not an exact repeat.  They do swap different main courses/starters between the rotations.

So does a menu repeat?- no, but will it look very familiar? - yes!

There are so many items to choose from....even with repeats, you could be on for several months and still eat something different every night.....

 

If we are having trouble deciding between two items we really want to try, the waiter will sometimes let us know "that will be come up again" or "I'll get you both items".  Win-Win.
