Sorry for resurrecting this but I didn't think my observation merited a thread of it's own.

I was perusing what appears to be a recent version of the Wine List and I came across a Slovenian white named: Pinot Grigio Quercus, Klet Brda, Goriska Brda, 2018 at $34.

I'm wondering whether this might be based on the hand wash, shower gel or shampoo? 🤣

Surprisingly it actually gets some decent reviews on specialist wine sites.

Well, as we all know, Quercus does mean oak, so it may as well be a reference to a station in West London.

We enjoyed Quercus (the wine, not the cosmetic) in QG restaurant on our recent 3-week QE cruise.  It is typical of the pinot grigios from Slovenia and the neighbouring collio wine area of Friuli, the region of my husband's birth:  crisp, fruity, refreshingly exquisite.  Yes, it does mean "oak".  I highly recommend it.  Our Sommelier quipped that it had the same name as the toiletries aboard, but had a distinctly different effect on the palate.

@Mareblu Thanks for the review of the Quercus wine. We will be sure to try it on QM2 in July as we love Pinot Grigio.

I want to look it up on the wine listings....

Pinot is our favorite  next to Zinfandels......

Do they have conditioner?

Yes...

It's not left in Britannia cabins any more. Others have reported that the steward provided it when asked.

I'm quite happy to use Quercus shampoo for a couple of weeks but always bring my own conditioner.

Agree!

But it's shipboard so not that professional. Always like their shampoos.

Their Hand Soap - Bar was also good. Had to ask for them. Still use to like to bring home the left overs that were worth while.

That’s a shame.  I’ve been a fan of Penhaligon’s scents for decades and am anxious to try these products.

Our Q3 suite was provided with liquid shower gel/soap, shampoo and conditioner.  Basin area was supplied with liquid hand wash and hand lotion.  We used all, which certainly wasn’t watered down that we noticed, except the shampoo and conditioner, because we always take our own.

Quercus is lovely and like  Mareblu  we didn't find anything watered down at all [a previous thread mentioned a watering down issue], It's just that my conditioner is a specific hair product and is a sight better than the most non specific hair company products.

We asked for  soap tablets for the shower and all the hand basins, habit I guess.🙂

I just got off the QV and was a bit unimpressed with the supplied toiletries and will take my own next time.

The hand soap and the shampoo were both watered down to the point of being mainly water and I only found the conditioner by looking under my bed one day to find a sock.(not found) .....( and it was a favourite)...... There was nothing in the stateroom to advise that bars or conditioner were available upon asking, but in my opinion if that is the price we have to pay to keep sailing, it s a price im prepared to pay.

It works really well on my hair - so your mileage will vary depending on your hair's requirements.

I always have a bar of Simple Soap in my suitcase ever since a vacation stay in a hotel with disgustingly perfumed soap and I had to go out and buy something simple. Not had to use it so far on Cunard.

i haven't seen any kind of bathroom accessory advisory either but my mantra is 'if you don't ask. you don't get'.

So I ask! 🙂

I guess it's what you're used to. Compared to my product, it's weedy but it obviously does the trick for you so that's fine. Saves suitcase space.🙂
