Mariner Society comp drink card

Unless there's an expiration date, I'd expect you could use it later. We used one on a recent cruise. Not much of a drink, no choice and it came in an odd small glass . If you don't use it, you probably won't miss much.

Cleaned out my sons bag and found a blue card for a Mariner Society cocktail; didn't even know they had given him one. Can he just save it for next cruise; is it good for a mocktail or soda instead of an alcohol drink?

I have used it for non-alcoholic drinks such as a NA Pina Colada.  Just did so last month. Also for soda. And I have used them on other cruises than the one when I was given it.

I decided to try the drink but would not order it again.  I’ve been saving them for a non HIA cruise someday.  I hadn’t thought of using it for something nonalcoholic.  Good idea.

Room steward put it on your bed on embarkation.  The "real" Mariners Cocktail includes St Germaine liquor, sparkling wine and soda with a twist of orange peel and a mint leaf.  YUM! Koningsdam does it very well!

That's what I was told as well.  I forgot to use it though.  I have kept ours (no expiration date on it). So hopefully will use it next time around.

I am only a 2* and I have received one on every cruise after my first.

Me too (2*)  but did not get one on my recent Westerdam cruise. Not sure about pre-Covid sailings (too long ago ...)

The Mariner free drink card we got on our cruise last month did not have an expiration date.

You should bring it onboard next cruise and see what happens.

The Mariner cocktail is good.  We enjoyed ours.

The "benefit" is listed in the Mariner Benefits list for all stars....Here is the info:

"Mariner Cocktail" voucher to be used anytime during the cruise

Substitutions were not allowed when I used the card last week. It is the "Mariner Society Cocktail" which I was told is Prosecco and sparkling water. Pretty tasteless to me.

Sounds like the Aggie cocktail - Perrier and water.

I asked about using it for a non-alcoholic drink on the NA in October and was told that it was only for the Mariner Cocktail—no substitutions.

Clueless employee you encountered unfortunately. You are allowed a non-alcohol substitution

If the first bartender won't take it for other than the real Mariner cocktail, go to another bar/bartender.  Rather than make a fuss, we have had to do that once or twice and it's worked out for us.

I have 2 or 3 somewhere.  Will find them and pack for my Rotterdam sailing.  Have HIA on the TA but the 2 5-night cruises following are casino offers, so have free drinks while gambling.  I can use these for pre-dinner drinks a few nights on those legs.

Just have to find them! 😄

My 1st cruise on HAL, this last April, i got the card.  It was in my cabin.  I suppose i was a 1 star? Or, zero star mariner?  Not sure the lingo.  Anyhow--i asked the bartender "what can i get with this?".  His answer was "just tell me what you would like".  I gave him the card + $2.00 in cash.
