Branfsu Posted February 19, 2023 #1 Share Posted February 19, 2023 Does royal transact in euros on a Med cruise? Can they be used in the casino, bar and retail? If not will royal convert them to dollars at guest services?
Rare DaKahuna Posted February 19, 2023 #2 Share Posted February 19, 2023 We have done two Med cruises with Royal Caribbean and all shipboard transactions were done in US dollars.

GS can covert your Euros via a probably poor exchange rate.

Escortmad79 Posted February 19, 2023 #5 Share Posted February 19, 2023 Take both, dollars to use in the casino or tip on the ship & euros for when ashore
Rare Deeliteful Posted February 19, 2023 #6 Share Posted February 19, 2023 Don’t use the ship to exchange, it’s always a very poor rate of exchange

All RCI ships are US$ Imagine the hassle of changing the tills, the bar menus, the casinos… etc.. to a different currency every time they cross the Atlantic! Everything is charged to your sea pass card (retail, bar, service charges) and charged to you in US dollars. Euros can not be used in the casino. Do not exchange Euros for dollars on the ship, the exchange rate sucks. You can use the ship's ATMs to get US dollars (as limited by your bank and with a $7 service charge from the ship). You can cash advance against your room account for a 5% service charge.
