This may get me kicked off CruiseCritic but my Apex cruise was a 10++

I recently returned from a 7 day cruise on the Apex.  Caribbean cruise with stops in Key West, Belize, Cozumel and Grand Cayman.  I am here to say that some folks on this board are either crazy or cannot be satisfied.  There was nothing, and I mean nothing that I wouldn't give a 10/10 for this cruise. The ship - spectacular.  The food - wonderful.  The entertainment - top notch.  The service - outstanding.  The cabin (Sky Suite, deck 9) - perfect. Casino - Terrific and the slots were paying!!

I spent a lot of time on this board prior to my cruise.  Folks had me believing that perhaps I had made a bad choice with Celebrity.  From the minute we walked into the terminal to the time we walked out 7 days later, I couldn't have been happier about my choice of Celebrity.  My wife and I (both early 60's) have sailed before on Royal, Princess and Carnival.  This cruise cruise on the Apex was better X 10 than any of our previous ones.

I would be glad to answer any questions regarding the Apex but I give fair warning...my answers are going to be very, very positive.

So glad you had such a great experience. We love Celebrity. We just got off the Summit and we had the exact same experience! What an absolutely beautiful ship. They did an amazing job when it was revolutionized.

Glad to hear nothing has changed! We were on the Apex back in Nov 2021 for 16 days and had an awesome time as well! 😃 

 

The ship cost around $1.2 billion to build and the entertainment is fantastic. We were only in a sunset veranda, but still had an awesome time eating in their 4 MDRs, as well as outside up at their buffet, going to a wide variety of interactive games shows, and seeing production shows in the main theater, The Club, and back in Eden!

Great review.  I will be doing the same itinerary on Apex in December…sailing solo in a SV.  I can honestly say I have never had a bad experience on a cruise (one exception on Equinox a few months ago…it was fixed).  Reading your review makes me even more anxious.

We departed from the Beyond on April 2.   I think all of the issues that people weren’t happy with have been resolved.  
 

The liquor, and wine  supply doesn’t seem to be the issue as it was.  
 

We never went to the buffet during the evening but it appeared to be the same full buffet as it was before for breakfast and lunch. 
 

As always the staff was fantastic.   I don’t think there was a shortage of staff anywhere.   
 

There were always drink servers in the areas you would expect them , even in the theater before the show started.   Whenever our wine glass was getting low at dinner some one was there to fill it. 
 

My only complaint is that the Captain gave us an extra hour on the 2nd day but took it back on the last one. 😢😱🙄🤗

I agree. We were on the 18 March 2023 Apex cruise.

Just off the Apex on Saturday. It was definitely MUCH more crowded than our other cruises since the pause. But it never affected our cruise experience. Main pool was PACKED on the sea days. But we don’t hang at the main pool. Walking around, you definitely noticed a lot of people but once we got to our destination, it wasn’t crowded. Not sure where all these people were going but they weren’t doing the same things as me. Eden, Craft Social, specialty restaurants for lunch, even the martini bar weren’t that busy.

Regarding the entertainment question, the group "UpTown" is not to be missed.  And if I might add, The Roof Top Grill was one of the three best meals we had while on board.  The brisket chili was awesome, the ribs were some of the best I ever had and my wife ordered the ribeye.  She enjoyed it more than the steak in Fine Cut!  This venue was a bargain for the upcharge.

Throughout the cruise we commented to each other that the ship never felt crowed to us. All the entertainment was good to excellent on the entire ship at all the different venues in our opinion. We didn't care for the female singer (can't remember her name) that performed the last evening in the theater. We really liked the theater layout with the ever changing back drop scenes.

How DARE you come on this board and post a positive review!

 

You should know by now that if a toothpick is out of place, it's your job to slam the cruise, the cruise line and anything else you can think of.

 

I demand that the admins give you at least a long time out.

IMO, I thought she had a fairly good sense of humor and the CC events we attended she was very personable. We're old, but maybe younger than you. 😁

OMG YES!   These boards had me terrified before our Celebrity Beyond trip in Feb.  Some people are just MISERABLE.  We had a fantastic cruise - everything was top notch! Loved it!   FEAR NOT non-grumpy folks!  You will have an amazing time :)
