New Orleans port of call

We had scheduled a cruise in Jan that stops in New Orleans.  The ship does not list any excursions for that port.  Any suggestions on where to book  a day tour?

Do you mind sharing ship/date?  I've never seen a Celebrity ship stop in NOLA.  Wondering if they have some new itineraries.

As for excursions, your best bet is to get off the ship and walk around a bit.  Depending on the day of week there can be a lot going on down in the French Quarter which is near the water (Mississippi river).  The Garden District is where you would see all the historic homes that are signature to New Orleans.  We've done self-guided foodie walking tours, a ghost tour, there are hop on-hop off bus tours.  There are lots of seafood places in the French Quarter that are known for oyster poboys and bignets.  Street musicians/entertainers, bucket drummers, magicians, etc...abound in NOLA.

Viator is one company.

But give it a little time because you’re just too early and Celebrity will be adding excursions eventually.

Constellation has been doing the cruises with port of call in NOLA for several years.

There is one itinerary that has the ship docked in NOLA for three nights for the last two nights of Marti Gras.

Not sure how I missed that.  Guess I never really looked into Celebrity and NOLA but good to know.

Totally this!

Been to NOLA at least 5 times (never by cruise) and have done all these things and more. Just love, love, love the food there...

We were on the Reflection and overnighted in NOLA on Fat Tuesday.  Great to be right at the Convention Centre and walk to see all the floats and parades.  Went home with five pounds of beads from the last Mardi Gras before the pandemic shut things down.  Great cruising the Missippi too.

If you want to explore on your own there is a street car stop at Julia Street in front of the Riverwalk Mall which is next to the port. It's like $3 for an all day pass and you can ride it to the French Quarters, and many of the other places listed above.

If you are into WWII history take an Uber to the National WWII museum and spend all day.  You could go first thing in the morning to the French Quarter and get beignets and coffee then go to the museum.
