Zaandam in Port Everglades on April 18, 2023

Here it is, the last regular sail away of the season from Port Everglades for our BHBs!

ms Zaandam will be at pier 26 from 6:00 am to 4:00 pm and is on an 11 day Atlantic Coast.  As well, she is the only cruise ship in port today so should be a speedy, uncomplicated sail away.

Thank you for this reminder.  I just took a look at the web cam and it’s so foggy I can’t see any of the ships in port.

Too bad pier 26 is out of the view of the PEV cam, and being smaller - Zaandam doesn't even show behind the buildings. She should be having a quicker clearance than Volendam [she has been on the Left Coast and transiting the Panama Canal - this winter]. Volendam came from South American.

The Zaandam looks good coming into port this morning.  I’m not sure I’ll see sail away since I’ll be in the office.  Looking forward to sailing on her next month.

It doesn't seem warm enough to 'move' the season to Alaska yet. And of course Juneau always seems so much cooler than some of the other ports.

 

Actually, it's not much warmer in New England or eastern Canada - where Zaandam is headed.

Agreed!  I live on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, and we had snow last night....very unusual for this late in the year!
