Casino offer to sail with a “slots social media influencer ”??

Recommended Posts

So, Lately I’ve been getting these email offers from Carnival Players Club.

You're invited to join Brian Christopher, the world's premier slots social media influencer, on our special Carnival Players Club sailings. You'll get to sail and play with Brian. PLUS, you'll enjoy exciting benefits and events. You might even come up with your own catch phrase oh, Nelly!

MEET BRIAN CHRISTOPHER IN PERSON!

WELCOME PARTY

AN INVITE-ONLY SLOT TOURNAMENT OR GROUP SLOT PULL

FAREWELL PARTY

The offer isn’t as good as ANY of the other casino offers that I've had (Less FunPlay Credit, Interior room only, Drinks ONLY in the casino, really no other perks). So, is the casino paying this guy to sail on these cruises so people can watch him play slots? Maybe I’m missing something, but I don’t understand why anyone would want to watch someone else play slots, online OR in person. I mean it’s slots, not some kind of a game of skill. Not poker or black jack or any other game where your skill can possibly influence the outcome, It’s SLOTS.

What am I missing here?

He is a very popular casino U Tuber with an large and enthusiastic fan base.  He has his own slot machine and a section of the Plaza Las Vegas casino floor being opening soon.  He is bringing in guests with his "funmatch" invitations.  New cruisers are getting what they think is a good deal to sail with a "celebrity".  There are a number of popular slot U Tubers, some who plays hundreds per spin.

I have had that offer available for months. I know who he is, have seen some of his videos and seen his followers treat him like royalty lol.

I find him kind of boring and annoying. He has cheesy catch phrases and sells a lot of his branded merch to his followers.

I've been getting those offers, thought it was a new Cruise Director or something.

So....... He's just a u-tube guy?

Correct. I have gotten the offers, too.  Just not interested.

I am a member of Brian's fan club, and I belonged before he blew up. I met him in Las Vegas before he became YouTube famous. He's a nice guy. I give him props for getting famous recording slot play. Playing slots takes no skill, but becoming successful on YouTube and sustaining that success appears to take some work. I did a November cruise with him, and I have another one scheduled in May. I've met some fun people attending his events and made a few friends It's like belonging to a group that has a common interest, in this case it is playing slots.

Getting both a slot machine with your name on it and a dedicated area at the Plaza Las Vegas takes work

Search for his name on YouTube - he's very popular. I like when he does the group slot pulls.

"Social Media Influencer" lol. I wonder who comes up with these wacky titles. I never heard of the guy until I started getting the e mails but they're always for Australia and that's just a bit too far away for me. I couldn't stand being on a plane for that long...even for a free cruise.

I know "Social Media Influencer" sounds so strange. I retired from teaching a few years ago. One thing is true, it's not like the good old days where your trained for an existing job like a nurse or teacher.

We have no idea what jobs will exist in 5 to 10 years, like social media influencer. That wasn't even a thing 10 years ago.

I watch YouTube for reviews on all sorts of things, hotels, clothes at Old Navy, cleaning hacks, cruising. If someone can offer solid suggestions that people are interested in and create a video that a lot of people watch, that makes you an influencer. And it's not just YouTube there are tons of other social media platforms.

If you have a good following, advertisers will pay to have placement on your videos. But some social media influencers are not good at video editing, so if they have the funds, they hire people to edit their videos. That is another lucrative job, that can be done from home. And now there are now advertising companies that just represent people on social media.

It just blows me away. The teaching and nursing jobs are still there, but the other opportunities are amazing.

He is among the top gay influencers and in the top "3" of slot gambling channels.

If this guy is teaching his flock how to win the slots, do I even have a chance?

Social media influencer actually was a thing 10 years ago at this point, sorry to make you feel old. Not on the level it is now, but it definitely was a thing by then.

I have absolutely no interest in sports.  I assumed he was a player of some type of team sport.

I get the offers too but detest the video slots that have taken over the casino.

The good, old Vegas reel slots are long gone.

No interest anymore and I used to live in the casino on sea days (LOL)

I won $1002 on his slot in Vegas a couple weeks ago.  Huuuuuge fan of that machine.

BC seems like a nice enough fella and i admire his passion on smoke free casinos (although i puff when drinking).

I couldn't agree more! The old reel slots are becoming more scarce with each cruise and I dread the day they're gone forever because I won't be in the casino much either anymore after that.

I just can't understand how to play those giant computerized slots with the big cartoons and videos playing and I never know what the heck i'm supposed to be going for when spinning.

I guess i'm just getting old..."Back in my day the slots were only 3 reels. That's the way it was and we liked it!" lol

You can still find some of the old school slots that spit out actual quarters in Vegas at the El Cortez in Fremont. They have even the buckets by them so you can catch your winnings.  They only have about a half dozen of them or so but there are a few left still. Plus, supposedly, El Cortez bills itself as having the loosest slots in Vegas. It wasnt true for me, unfortunately lol.

You are right the concept of using an online presence started earlier than ten years ago. But as a humorous nod to how things are changing, instead of using Google to research the history of social media influencing, I used an AI product.

I am curious to see where the influencer market tops out.
