Florida Fan Posted July 3, 2023 #1 Share Posted July 3, 2023 Can anyone recommend a strategy to find shade on Coco Cay? We were there a few months ago, but unfortunately there was another, larger ship unloading too, and we were slow to start. The few shady spots were all gone. We'll get a quicker start next time, but any other ideas?

We usually head to either Chill Beach or South Beach and always find two loungers with an umbrella. We try to get them beside a palm tree for even more shade. cruisegirl1 Posted July 3, 2023 #4 Share Posted July 3, 2023 Every set (two or four) of chairs as an umbrella. You can move the chairs a bit to put them into the available umbrella shade. m

We'll get a quicker start next time, but any other ideas? We have been to CocoCay several times with two large ships. We never had a problem finding an umbrella on Chill Beach (we park near the bar and buffet... both used multiple times during our stay). If you want to guarantee shade, you can book the Coco Beach Club, every lounger pair has an umbrella.
Sunshine3601 Posted July 3, 2023 #6 Share Posted July 3, 2023 Plenty of shade. I'm going to say Chill island with loungers near palm trees would be best for you.
PhillyFan33579 Posted July 3, 2023 #7 Share Posted July 3, 2023 To add to what others have said, I have always seen plenty of umbrellas available even when two ships were there.
SbbquilterUT Posted July 4, 2023 #8 Share Posted July 4, 2023 We found plenty of loungers and umbrellas at South Beach.

You WILL find shade, but it may take a bit more walking than you expected.
