The TA's that post or advertise are sponsors of CC, posting one's own TA would be competing with sponsors. That's how I understand it.

As I see it, allowing names just opens up too much possibility of fraud.

If I own X Travel, I could pretend to be a very satisfied customer of X Travel, and write rave reviews of the outstanding service I got.  Maybe I actually give terrible service, but could generate a lot of business by continually giving fake glowing reviews.

There are posters that admit that they are travel agents, but they do not link to their agencies.  Travel agency ads are a source of revenue for CC.  EM

Some sections from the Guidelines we all agreed to follow when registering for our free Cruise Critic memberships:

 

Do you sell cruises; are you sponsored by the cruise lines; do the cruise lines pay you to say good things about them?

 

Advertising is Not Allowed

Travel Agent Recommendations

 

Also from the Guidelines:
