hisfirstm8 Posted August 27, 2023 #1 Share Posted August 27, 2023 We are booked in a CC class cabin on the Silhouette in November. I see that you get a bottle of champagne in your room. Is it possible to get a bottle of wine instead because we don't drink champagne. Thanks for the insite.
emmas gran Posted August 27, 2023 #2 Share Posted August 27, 2023 Sorry who knows what will happen then, suggest you ask your room attendant when you board.
Nachosdelux Posted August 27, 2023 #3 Share Posted August 27, 2023 In the past they have allowed this (it is actually sparkling wine, not Champagne). As the previous poster mentioned, past performance is no guarantee of future results.
bikerunner Posted August 27, 2023 #4 Share Posted August 27, 2023 You're aware champagne is wine.
hisfirstm8 Posted August 27, 2023 Author #5 Share Posted August 27, 2023 Its the bubbly part of the wine that we don't drink. Prefer just the regular reds or whites. Would you recommend calling Captains Club prior to cruising or wait and talk to our room steward?
Rare cruisestitch Posted August 27, 2023 #6 Share Posted August 27, 2023 Room steward. It isn’t a Captain’s Club perk.
cublet Posted August 27, 2023 #7 Share Posted August 27, 2023 Hello, If you do get Champagne, don't tell as everyone will want some! Regards, Cublet
Rare 1025cruise Posted August 27, 2023 #8 Share Posted August 27, 2023 We've usually saved our complimentary bottle to drink while packing on the last day. Which means my wife will drink one glass, and I end up finishing the bottle.
hisfirstm8 Posted August 27, 2023 Author #9 Share Posted August 27, 2023 Thanks for the info. We will check with our cabin steward after boarding.
Purplsmurf Posted August 27, 2023 #10 Share Posted August 27, 2023 I have tried on a couple of sailings and was told no, but I have read that others have been able to do it, so I suggest asking once on board.
jelayne Posted August 27, 2023 #11 Share Posted August 27, 2023 Switching the sparkling wine for red or white was fairly common in the past. Lately there seem to be more restrictions on what the staff can do. Last time in CC we couldn’t get cheese & crackers instead of the canapés. Cabin attendant was very apologetic “I’m sorry but we can only offer the canapés”.
