We are onboard! Horrendous journey but embarkation was fast and smooth, our cabins were spotless and we headed straight to the Martini bar for a much needed refreshment!
After that we have just stopped by the Mast Grill for a burger, they were good, not as juicy as they used to be but nevertheless very tasty.
All crew have been welcoming, and offering to help us with dining or drink packages. We had no issues booking our speciality dining. So far, so good!

Every time we read about people saying we are flying in at x hours, the journey takes y hours and expect to be boarding at z hours I put a post on to say travel in the UK is not predictable!

We live about 3 and 1/2 hours from Southampton but have never been brave enough to drive down on the day. Between football matches, boat shows and other miscellaneous events to say nothing for strikes and the weather journeys to Southampton are rarely simple…

So pleased you are now on board, have a wonderful cruise!

The drinks look Devine! Love the Martini Bar. Those guys are such a hoot! Always so cheerful and fun. Love the fun they bring to the bar!
Enjoy, we will be back on her in April! 🍸🥂🇨🇦
Catherine. 🤗

Just a quick photo of our cabin, 9239 mid ship concierge. We missed the concierge embarkation lunch but it was offered until 1pm.
our cabin is directly next to our sons, and the steward very kindly opened the balconies up so we have one big shared area between us.

So, our first dinner! We went at 6:30 - yes, early (we have been up since 5am) We are on select dining, we had a warm welcome and a nice table near to the windows at the back of the dining room on Deck 4.
Our Wait staff were Ronny, Tony and sommelier is Tapas. Really great guys and very attentive.
We ordered the Wild mushroom soup, and Roasted beets with feta to start - all were excellent and just as we remember from past cruises. Especially love the bread basket (yay it’s still free! 😂) and the whipped butter selections.
Then we had Prime rib of beef, which is fantastic, so tender, and cooked just pink. Some of us had it with mash, which was actually not bad mash….Phew!

I opted for buttered potatoes, they were ok, and then randomly the waiter brought a baked potato…! Did he read my mind??! So yes, they do still have baked potatoes on this ship! All in

all a delicious dinner with very good service.

Following!  What is your itinerary?  Curious to see if you are stopping at any of the ports we will be on next summer.  Thanks!

Malaga, Cagliari, Civitavecchia, La Spezia, Marseilles, Cadiz. Lots of sea days. So far the sea is calm, and really translucent, hoping it stays that way!

First sea day. It’s a beautiful calm day in the Bay of Biscay! Yay! Am so relieved.

We had breakfast at the ocean view buffet, we love the high top chairs just as you go in.
It was busy busy busy.  However we notice everywhere staff are offering help and drink orders etc, also a lot of upselling on dining and spa services etc.

After breakfast we went to coffee at Al Bacio, again, busy but staff are attentive and on the ball which is great. We noticed a sign for coffee to go at the Gelato bar, I haven’t seen that before. No cookies to be seen though!

There is a new sports pub beer lounge called the Craft Social, looks good if you like sport and beer! They offer paid for snacks too.

Am off to hide ducks…

We watched you leave from our vantage point on the Isle of Wight.

You are so lucky with the weather.

Looks like the Bay of Biscay will be beautiful.

We are most envious!

We are also on this cruise, so looking back towards you in Ryde and then later towards the south of the Island.
