Back to back cruises on different cruise lines

I couldn’t make my mind up between Carnival and Royal Caribbean. I know you can do back-to back cruises on the same ship, but what would the challenges logistically be to end a 4 night on one, disembark and go to the other and start a new cruise? Are the two terminals too far apart to walk between? I would think either would disembark in plenty of time to check in and start the other right?

When its on two different ships or cruise lines, its called a "side to side", or S2S.

If you look at the Florida Departures Board, here:

https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/386-florida-departures/

You will see the logistics discussed on how to get from one ship to another, if not walkable. Yes, you will be off your first ship well in advance of when you can board the other.

Orlando is not a port, Port Canaveral is the port in the area.

If it is too long to walk, just get a taxi.  Don’t be in a hurry to get off the first ship, as check in for the second probably won’t start until 1030-1100.  Have a leisurely breakfast, debark with the last guests and make your way to the next ship.  EM

We were actually considering two cruises on two different cruise lines from Port Canaveral. Everything I've read about this subject on the Florida Departures board says taxis won't take you, since it's only a very short ride. Not worth their time, especially with most other passengers going to the airport or into the city. But I suppose you could always ask.
