as long as it folds  or you can fit it through the cabin door

Check with your cruise line for the dimensions

No - as mentioned by LHT28.  Wheelchairs are very common on board.

But If for any reason you would decide not to take it there are motorized and manual rental options available for wheelchairs that are intended for cruise ship use. Just google the topic to see your options and port rental locations.  This may provide an option to transporting yours to and from the departure port.

This link to the Disabled Cruise Travel board may also provide additional information on the subject:

Welcome to CruiseCritic!

As mentioned, you can certainlly bring a wheelchair on board.  Indeed, IF you need a wheelchair, you must bring your own OR arrange in ADVANCE to rent one from one of the recommended vendors.  (There are not "extra" wheelchairs on board.)

But do make SURE that your cabin is large enough, including the doors, to let the wheelchair in and to maneuver within the room.  A folding wheelchair is unlikely to be a problem; a motorized one... double check dimensions and get an "accessible" cabin.  Those are intended to accommodate a wheelchair, etc.

Enjoy your cruise!

Hello @annie is cute and welcome to Cruise Critic!

Thank you for your new topic on the Ask a Cruise Question forum! However, it is the forum for general questions regarding cruising. Your inquiry concerns cruising with a wheelchair and really should be on another forum for replies from other cruisers using wheelchairs.

To help you out, your new thread has been moved to the Disabled Cruise Travel forum where it will be on topic. It is where cruisers with physical limitations share their advice & experiences. Browse through the thread titles on this forum looking for threads of interest. You will probably find your fellow Cruise Critic members have already posted questions and received answers that may be of interest to you.

To find your fellow Cruise Critic members sailing with you, you need to post on the specific Roll Call thread for your cruise line, ship and sail date. Please read What is a Roll Call? Everything you Need to Know and How To: Create A New Roll Call. For more information about our famous Roll Calls, please read the Roll Calls and Our Policy Regarding Facebook and Roll Calls sections in the GuidelinesWe also have the following Cruise Critic article you might enjoy8 Reasons to Join a Cruise Critic Roll Call

The Cruise Critic website and the message boards are both great resources for new as well as experienced cruisers and we are so glad you found us! Please feel free to browse the Cruise Critic Community categories list for the various message board forums. Read a few threads in the different forums to get a feel for what each forum is about. Make sure you read any pinned threads (aka Stickies) on the top of the first page of threads in most forums. You will find very important instructions or information there.

sincerely hope this information will be helpful to someone new to posting on our message boards. We are so glad to have you aboard Cruise Critic!

Happy sails,

Host Kat

Please post your cruise line / ship.   Each cruise line's website has a section on mobilitiy devices (you will need to let them know you will be bringing your own chair).  But @GeezerCouple pretty much summed it up above.

There are many, many wheelchair users on this board who can give you more specific responses (and links) once we know what cruise line you will be on.
