Rare ottahand7 Posted October 1, 2023 #76 Share Posted October 1, 2023 Good afternoon. Here is a brown rabbit from me. It was greeting us at the historical museum in August. I don't think it was a native rabbit as it was the size of a kitten. @Quartzsite Cruiser, @HAL Sailer and @smitty34877 prayers for you during all that is going on in your lives right now. @Haljo1935I hope you can get treatment for your respiratory illness. @summer slope I hope your auto immune illness isn't serious. KO ofPrayers for everyone in our group who are ill, feeling badly or going through trials. Prayers for the people of Ukraine. @richwmn thanks for today's Daily reports. A good quote, we love coffee here and have frugal fun at the cabin. It is great us folks "up in age" have a day too. Lenda, thank you for the photos of the Seychelles. @dfishthe enchilada recipes look tasty but pass on the cocktail and I am unsure about the wine. We left rather early this morning for the casino to get a good seat for the Ravens game. We both bet on our teams, John for the Vikings and of course me for the Ravens and we both cashed our bets. It was fun once they quit switching the games from big screens to small screens. It was a beautiful day here with high 70s and sun. Have a nice evening. dfish Posted October 2, 2023 #77 Share Posted October 2, 2023 I think the correct term for those of us with more turns around the sun is experienced. Scratch elderly. 9 1
Rare rafinmd Posted October 2, 2023 #78 Share Posted October 2, 2023 I have sort of a sunset as the sun drops below QM2's aft superstructure. Roy 16
St Pete Cruiser Posted October 2, 2023 #79 Share Posted October 2, 2023 I'm late to the party again. Love coffee, I'm elderly even if I don't care for that description and frugal fun is all good! October 1 is the unofficial end of summer in Florida, which is a relief for me. More importantly, it is Jimmy Carter's birthday! His 99th no less. A friend brought an old campaign brochure to our current events coffee chat Friday. A great humanitarian! We are excited about flying to Amsterdam Wednesday where we plan to board our Flagship, the Rotterdam, for her 15 day reposition to Ft Lauderdale. Kazu/Jacqui will be posting updates for our CC readers. She has been devoted to our roll call and so helpful to many of less Holland America traveled cruisers who will be aboard. Amsterdam, a Holland America favorite embarkation port, will be much less frequent in the future, so I plan to enjoy our adventure and departure from there Saturday.
marshhawk Posted October 2, 2023 #80 Share Posted October 2, 2023 @CrabbyPatti While clearing even more tree "dust" from the back yard, I too saw a wooly bear caterpillar, but it was all black. The Farmers Almanac did say the south would have a rough winter, but heck if it snows an Inch in Atlanta, the whole city goes into lock down for 5 days. From a response I received yesterday, I get the feeling that I offend some of you. I'm sorry if you have felt offended, but this is me, and I can change me, but personally I dont want to😁.

It was 80 degrees here today and even warmer for tomorrow and Tuesday and Wednesday. I could live with the for the rest of the year. I’m not sure what happened but Stephanie’s surgery was delayed until tomorrow. Blessings and prayers to all on our lists. Sending positive thoughts that Stephanie's surgery goes as planned tomorrow, and that she has an easy and quick recovery. 2 hours ago, dfish said: I think the correct term for those of us with more turns around the sun is experienced. Scratch elderly. Debbie, I like your label of experienced. Elderly always makes me think of feeble and decrepit. Old doesn’t even convey those terms. 56 minutes ago, marshhawk said: @CrabbyPatti While clearing even more tree "dust" from the back yard, I too saw a wooly bear caterpillar, but it was all black. Annie, for the record, I was not offended yesterday. I find your honesty and being true to yourself refreshing. I can relate to Atlanta shutting down for a week with an inch of snow. When we lived in Wilmington, NC, we had a snow and ice storm and the entire area came to a screeching halt for a week. Lenda 7

We are not. 8

LOL I had an manager introduce me as one of the "seasoned nurses" in the emergency department...........at least she was referring experienced vs new to the department! Someone changed that to "marinated," which soon became "pickled." 2

It's really bad when the person is only in their mid 50's and referred to as elderly.
