Redeeming RCI BOA Credit Card Points for OBC

Hi All - I have enough points on my RCI BOA credit card to redeem for a $250 OBC. We are sailing on Allure of the Seas in December, and I would like to convert the points to an OBC to be used on this cruise. I am on the redemption portal, and am about to cash in the points for the OBC. My question is, how do I get this OBC applied to my upcoming Allure sailing? Thank you.

You can call BOA or you can do it on their websit…very simple to do…you will just need your booking number ship name and the name reservation is under. As said above if you check on the RCCL website under your booking you willl see the cruise credit within a week

That is okay. I am past final payment date anyway, so I wouldn't be getting a price discount/adjustment. Thank you though.

The redemption process is very easy and the OBC should show up on your cruise planner within a week.  Just make sure you keep or print a copy of the receipt for the redemption transaction and check your cruise planner to make sure the credit shows up.  I did a redemption for $100 a couple of months ago and it was still not posted after more than two weeks.  I called and they "found" the missing redemption and applied it right away but if I had not called it would probably have never been applied.

This is odd. Why would this void your ability to reprice your cruise prior to final payment date? Just curious.

I have done it many times with no issues.

I was told that I couldn't get a price adjustment after I had put the OBC onto my reservation-This was from RC and my TA looked into it for quite some time. She's been really honest with me, and goes out of her way to help so I trust her confirmation of RC's answer.

I wasn't doubting you so thanks for the update. You learn something new every day and I'll watch out for this in the future. Would hate to lose the ability to reprice over the OBC.

 

This means we shouldn't redeem any RCL CC OBC until after the final payment date when no repricing is possible anyway.

It is refundable. And yes, you should cash it out in the casino. If it is refunded back to your RC Visa, it is a double point deficit.

I’ve done it for many cruises and always still able to get price adjustments.

Was it an OBC or did you use the BOA credit to reduce your cruise price? I can see they might not offer a price adjustment if you did that. I do not understand no adjustments for adding OBC to your booking.

In used RC Visa for OBC well before final payment. After many tries wtih both RC and my TA, I wasn't able to get my fare discounted when there was a sale. I was able to spend the OBC onboard. Lessons learned- I won't apply RC points for OBC until a few weeks before the cruise.

It should show up in your cruise planner. If it is not, you can call C&A first. Welcome to Cruise Critic.

When I go to the website and click on the 'plan my cruise' button it shows up on the next page up top next to the ship and sail date.
