Rare Sea Dog Posted October 20, 2023 Author #251 Share Posted October 20, 2023 Pre dinner cocktail at the Tommy Bahama Bar next to the store. Classic Mai Tai. Good but not as good as mine.

I do know this is a full sailing so I wouldn’t be surprised if I get one. I just hope not. Bottom line if I go at 4:30pm will they kick me out at 5pm? I doubt it. They set up the Safari Lounge for Pinnacle Happy Hour since there was so many Diamond, Diamond Plus and Pinnacle Crown and Anchor Members. They chased us out of there after looking at our Sea Pass Cards. They checked every Sea Pass card of everyone going in there EVERY NIGHT, all 14 nights. Had the room chained off, you couldn't even walk through where the Pool Tables were. They chased people out of the lounge EVERY night.

Rare Sea Dog Posted October 20, 2023 Author #258 Share Posted October 20, 2023 26th Anniversary Dinner (a little late since it was the 18th) at the Boathouse at Riverside Hotel. Starters Chocolate Martini for Linda. She says best ever. Tiki Rum Runner for me. Very good. Always a plus served in a tiki mug. Requested dockside table. Our view. Seared Ahi Tuna with hot pita bread. This was amazing. Fun watching the boats go by. Nothing like tiki party boat. Went to the website. Not cheap. Hawaiian Rib Eye for Linda. No real Hawaiian flavor but tasty. Shrimp Lemon Linguine. Very good. I enjoyed this dish a lot. IMG_2587.dng 45

Rare Sea Dog Posted October 21, 2023 Author #264 Share Posted October 21, 2023 (edited) Wonderful after dinner hooking up with our new cruising friends Larry @Husky1987 and his wonderful wife Andi. Larry and I have common bond as bourbon and whiskey aficionados. So it woul be appropriate that we meet at a whiskey bar just down the street from the Riverside where we are both staying. Incredible bourbon and whiskey list. Some very expensive. Some great bourbons. I had the EH Taylor Small batch (not pictured) and a Angels Envy Rum cask finish. Yummmm! Great time talking with Larry who went to law school with my wife. Talk about a small world. Now we get a good night’s sleep and board Adventure of the Seas for a full week of good times. Cheers everyone and good night! Edited October 21, 2023 by Sea Dog

Easier said than done. Sitting out on the balcony drinking a Diet Coke before bedtime at 11pm. I know I will sleep about 4-5 hours and be ready to go. I’m ready to cruise. Let’s do this!
Rare perfect match Posted October 21, 2023 #267 Share Posted October 21, 2023 Greg, thank you for the Mai Kai memories. I had really hoped that they would be open in time for us, but that was not meant to be. I’m glad to see that they’re finally making progress on their rebuilding. Maybe on our next trip.
Rare perfect match Posted October 21, 2023 #268 Share Posted October 21, 2023 (edited) Our Water Taxi day was October 3, so just under three weeks earlier than you. All those docks moored together near the Bahia Mar in my pictures sure look a lot different now in your pictures! 😂 Edited October 21, 2023 by perfect match

They told us that they bring in portable docks and the boats are brought in and organized together like a jig saw.

Rare Sea Dog Posted October 21, 2023 Author #271 Share Posted October 21, 2023 It’s 4am. I’m wide awake. Just like a kid on Christmas Eve the anticipation of morning and all it’s glory has arrived. No I’m not wishing for a official Red Ryder, carbine action, 200-shot, range model air rifle, with a compass in the stock and this thing that tells time, I’m wishing for a big hunk of steel called Adventure of the Seas. My mind is racing with all the things I want to do on board. I ask myself all the worthy questions , What drink will I order first? How quickly can do that darn muster drill? Do I really have to listen that horn again? Will I get all my dining package reservations made? These are the questions inquiring minds want to know. I guess all in due time. Today is going to be a great day. 21
