The last time we were on Wonder, sitting at the bar in the SL waiting to be seated for dinner in CK, a couple that just came in made us move so they could sit together.  We simple left and took a seat in the lounge area.  Never uttered a complaint.

Our waiter came over later and apologized...though it was not his fault.  He told us the couple were in a JS cabin and were Diamonds.  And really had no business at the bar in the first place.  Dinner yes, SL no.

We were in a GS and are Pinnacle.

Island Lady, also going on Wonder tomorrow.
I had mentioned Grace was at Coastal K. when we were there in August. And yay, she said she’ll be here still in Oct.

Will be up there at CK tomorrow am, to reserve a table. (masters, with 697 days)
But how will I know you?

I’m Ellyn. Hubs is Michael, can’t miss him-he’s 6’6” tall!

Bucky is the tall dark and handsome one...I am the short and frumpy one.  😄  Will try spot you.

Yes, we are excited to see Grace again.  Oh no, she has us trouble makers to deal with again!  I am not familiar with the names of the new concierges.  I think "Giggling Jimmy" is on board in CK as well.

If you are in a JR suite on Odyssey how do you make reservations to CK? Do you have to make it every night or can you make it for the whole week at once? Is there a way to do it ahead of time before the sailing or do we go somewhere to do it? Thanks

Look for two young good looking kids sitting at the VCL bar at approximal 5:PM enjoying a couple of pre supper drinks. That will be Pat and Bucky.

Have to do it after you get on the ship. You should go up to the CK, right after going to your muster station. Some ships will let you do it for the whole week, others have you ask the nite before or same day.  We have Odyssey mid Nov, & will be going to reserve up there as well.

If they follow the same "rules" on Wonder that they did for us on Mariner, you will have your recognition ceremony at the Top Tier Event (usually the first sea day at 10:30) but you will not be entitled to any of the Pinn perks until your next cruise.  We did not enjoy any of the Pinn perks on the cruise where we "turned" but the following week, we were full fledged Pinnacles !  I suspect that is the way it will be for you as well....but that is at the discretion of the Loyalty Ambassador.  You'll just have to see, I guess.  The LA does know that you are turning on this cruise, right ?

Anyway, congratulations !!!!  It's an awesome achievement.

. I will speak to the LA after we get on the ship tomorrow. Usually the top tier event is same am as the officers luncheon for 340+.  Our next cruise is Odyssey mid Nov.

See that some of the perks are the same, except 6 drinks, & the $25 off spec dinner.

Suppose you can't combine that $25 off, with the buy1 get 1 free the 1st or 2nd nite??

(We already have been getting the Coastal K, & wifi during whole cruise, as my hubs is masters in the casino)

Started with Royal Carib. in 90's , when you only needed 10 cruises any length, to become diamond. We had 9 when they changed it to days.

Thanks for the info!

Enjoy your upcoming Pinnacle benefits!  You may find many of your Master Benefits to be more beneficial than your Pinnacle benefits. When it comes to CK/Suite lounge you will never have to worry.  Masters  have full access.

General rules are that the ship specific $25 dining voucher  cannot be combined with the BOGO.

And I took a look... 9 cruises at the conversation in 2011 was  76 points, just 4 points away from Diamond.  So just one cruise or 4 points either way.

Thanks for all the info!

Yep, we were grandfathered in needing 4 more days to become diamond back then.
We were going on a 15 nite transatlantic in the fall. So went on a 4 niter in the summer, think it was Monarch. This way we had our diamond drinks each day in the TA.

One more question, did they already give you a pinnacle keycard on your 2nd cruise?

Our one after is 6 days after we get off.

Yes - gold card on the first "full" Pinn sailing but regular GenPop card on the one where we "turned".  Where you MAY run into trouble is if your C&A points haven't posted before you board again in 6 days.  I recommend that you ask the LA for advice regarding your upcoming cruise.  I believe the LA can post your C&A points early so that it will be clear, before you board, that you are a full-fledged Pinn.  Since your husband is Masters I doubt it would really make any difference on boarding since you will both already have priority boarding.  If, for some reason, you do not have a gold card waiting for you, just take it to the Suites Concierge (since you will already  have access due to being Masters) and they will print you a nice pretty gold one !!!

So excited for you !!

Funny....but IMHO...no. 😄   As far as I know, we are no longer in their radar as Pinnacles.  They see us as we actually are...suite guests.  😉

Probably, and if we are no longer on their Pin radar, I can see a scenario where Pins with high enough point totals to make the magic 30 number and who are also sailing in suites would be seen only as pins by the LA and invited to a place where they already have suite access, bumping other Pins out.😇

Went to see loyalty ambassador here on Wonder. Already had envelope with letter & form to fill out in cabin. Gave him the forms & emailed him a pic of us for Tues’ event. 6-10 weeks for pins, free cabin certificate, & plaque to come in mail.
Told him about our next cruise & he found it on computer & will let Odyssey know so they’ll have the gold cards ready for us.

What type of cabin is the free one on the certificate??

Yippee !  Sounds like they were expecting you and will take care of you for your upcoming cruise, too !  So glad it’s all coming together.

The comp cruise is an ocean view balcony.  Of course, you can upgrade it if you choose.  We had a specific room in mind so we paid a few bucks (less than $100 I believe) to upgrade to a slightly higher category of OV balcony.

The one question I forgot to ask (and I’m sure someone on here will know) is if we had not upgraded would we still have gotten C&A points ?  I think the answer is “yes” but there were some rumblings a while back about not receiving C&A points on comped cruises. Not sure how that finally resolved.

No C&A points for a free Pinnacle cruise unless you pay "something" towards the cruise, beyond port fees and taxes.

I’m sure you would still get c&a points/days  for the comp cabins. For about 8 yrs, my hubs has been playing in the casino & getting comped cabins on royal, princess, & carnival.
We still get loyalty days on all 3.

We do get c&a days/points for our comped casino cruises, when we only pay the port charges.

Yes, I knew the casino comps get points (these are the vast majority of our cruises) but thought I remembered that there was some issue with the pinn comps.  Glad I upgraded a little bit.  Thanks, @Merion_Mom for that info.

Nice that the waiter apologized for the extremely rude couple.  I figured that you were sailing in a full suite.
