Sorry quoted wrong post was so annoyed !!

Well, I wouldn’t start worrying yet. It seems these refits are always done under immense time pressure, and ship yards are used to it. That’s not to say that there might not be workers on your cruise finishing off stuff, human nature being what it is.

And, if the worst happens (which I doubt, from a position of complete ignorance), it will be one more thing Cunard gets the blame for when it’s not their fault.

Post #92 - Curious as to the function of the large truck which appears to be suspended next to the ship with lines or hoses connecting it to a small shell door in the hull?

Maybe she needs a jump start 😉

When will it be in Southampton? Will the short trip to Bruges on the 16th be happening?

Southampton PA have arriving on15th. Any overun by the yard will almost certainly incur a penalty.

Surely it not only the yard that takes the wrap for any delay. I’m sure Cunard have plenty of their own directly employed contractors on board.

Not to mention the dry dock will already have the next ship waiting for it.I do though get a sense that Cunard not wanting to cover the re fit from a PR point of view... Its NEVER BEEN MENTIONED OFFICIALLY can only mean there are known unknowns about what they are doing with the ships plant/equipment...Normally there would have been some kind of press release or official Cunard videos of the work in progress it is all very strange, frustrating and unusual.

Yes curious. Especially as it must have been scheduled ages ago, or was it?

The gap in QM2's schedule between October 22nd and November 16th has been there since the 2023 summer/autumn itineraries were first released in January 2022. So the drydock has been scheduled for quite some time. Can't speak for whether or how much the scope of what was planned to be done has changed since that timeframe for the drydock was set.

Fantastic photos shows just how much work is going on it must be costing an absolute fortune in scaffolding alone! Would be very interesting to hear from Cunard about what they are changing looks like a great big filter is being lowered into the stack. They need to get a move on with the painting though!

Painting will probably be the last thing they do - don't want to risk scratching it or ruining it with everything else going on at the same time
