Fort Lauderdale Pre-cruise hotel and Shuttle recommendations?

Looking for pre-cruise hotel in Fort Lauderdale for a cruise out of Port Everglades.  Preferably a hotel with a shuttle to the port.  Looking to get in a couple days early and enjoy the Fort Lauderdale area.   Also post cruise is there a shuttle service that is reliable?   Thanks.

There are dozens and dozens and dozens of threads on hotels here. Shuttles are provided by most hotels, typically for a fee. If you look around there are many references to the website visitlauderdale.com, where all the hotels in Ft Lauderdale are listed, with their amenities, including shuttles.

Recently used Hyatt House in Dania Beach area.  Very nice place and great service.  Very good shuttle service from airport (free) and to pier ($15 pp plus tax).  Also have shuttle service post cruise either to hotel or airport (for a fee).  Lots of dining and shopping right next door.

Since you plan on staying a few days, make sure you check out the official Fort Lauderdale tourist website (www.visitlauderdale.com) for information on lodging, transportation, restaurants, attractions, etc.

If I stay a few days, I have stayed 7x at Best Western Oceanside, 100 yards to beach, pool, free hot breakfast, bar that sells food, refrigerator, microwave, bus ($1 for seniors) outside the hotel, walking distance to water taxi, walk along water front to restaurants, $ washer/dryers, friendly staff.

 

No shuttle to hotel, (about $30-35 by taxi),can put your name down for $ shuttle to Port Everglades.
