Last night suite lounge was not that crowded was able to get a bar seat , I know pinnacles had their own suite lounge , not sure if this is still true. As for pinnacles just booking cheap cabins , I know some do but many book suites have had great conversations with many . Definitely prefer suite lounge and staff in suite lounge on celebrity and MSc yacht club.

Just to let you know I will be in the suite lounge and when I see pinnies with their pin on I just laugh to myself.  First off the pin is ugly and bulky.   I wonder do you put your pin on your night clothes when you sleep?  I have met some very nice people who have attained pinnacle status and do not have that feeling of entitlement that some do.  Please wear your pin just so I can laugh.

It’s always funny to KNOW that people notice and are so bothered by the Pin name tag. Add that to the lanyard, it’s like a game of people who care so much about what I wear. I have had people roll their eyes at me as if they already know 100% because of what I have on.

Glad it works so well. lol.

instead of how amazing the sunset is, you notice what others have on. It’s your money, I guess.

So true.  Especially the long winded conversations with the crew.  However we did listen to one of the conversations and looked at each other raising our eyebrows.  On the Vision, we had a JS 8588 with that fantastic balcony so we just stayed there 90% of the time on sea days.  It was nice with no dress code...😁

Is there a rule that passengers are not allowed to be friends with the crew?  Wasn’t aware of that.

Coming from someone who books suites so I can enjoy the SL,,,,, You're not 100% wrong. Not going to say I'm not guilty, but I sure do work hard to remember where I came from. I used to book interior cabins. Now I'm able to enjoy a bit of my hard labors.

Having said that, I do find the P's acting as the Primary social group while dismissing the members of the Secondary social group. In a way, I can understand. Many of the P's have sailed many times together to earn that status and know each other. Plus, they have earned a certain level within the social groups. On the other hand, I would think that one of the requirements after earning P status is that you also agree to be an ambassador for Royal.

I have cruised 12 times with MSC on Seaside, Seashore, Divina and europa in Yacht Club. I will say it costs less than sailing Sky class on the Oasis and Quantum class ships. Though the YC1 rooms are about the size of JS on Royal. Cabin is not like a crown loft suite but the shower is the next best after the showers on Oasis and Allure. YC lounge and restaurant are larger than SL on Royal. Plus included drink package, wifi and spa access.   No need to worry about chair hogs and such in YC.

Still cruise Royal but have started to do more cruises with MSC now.

Just wondering why you think P are more prevalent on the short jaunts? You get the same points per night on a 3 day cruise or a 11 day cruise.

I have actually met many more seasoned cruisers on the longer sailings than the 3/4 night ones.

I cruise a lot on the short ones, but that is because I still work, and I do not have to use any PTO. (Not to mention they limit my ability to spend in the casino. 🙄 Ha! )

You are lucky to live close to a cruise port , many many decades ago when I lived in New York City as a single I did several short cruises l now that we fly not so easy. Some of my earlier cruises rccl had a great deal with airfare and cruise.

I moved here in 2015, and yes you are right it is the only reason I am able to cruise so much while still in my working years. Plus, I am not a good flyer.

Funny how people miss the point and misconstue what is being communicated.

I actually felt bad for some of the Pins. I was on a oasis cruise earlier this year and this one Pin had to make sure everybody knew who she was. In The captain Q and A she had to ask a question that even the cruise director had to make a comment that if he did not call on her he would hear about it later and she must of asked the same question every cruise or a very similar question. I felt bad as how empty her life must be that the only satisfaction she gets is going around on the cruise and making sure everybody acknowledges her and her status.

On a side note I was on a flight once and there were two passengers who were both at the very top of the carrier frequent flyer program. The level where you get invited to join not just automatic based on flights taken. They were the top of the top. They started arguing with each other to see who would actually board first. These are two professionals who travel for a living and spend more times on planes then they probably do at home. They started pushing each other to want to be first on the plane.

Just goes to show that you might have earned a certain level or status but common sense or decency is not always present whether a Pinnacle or any other loyalty program.

Call me kookie….but why is anyone allowed in the suite lounge besides those who are actually staying in a suite? I don’t understand why pinnacles are allowed in there except if they are staying in a suite. I call foul here. Or maybe it should be “ fowl!” Cluck! These peeps, pun intended, should get the lounge to themselves as per what they paid for, not have to share with the pinnacles. If I were fortunate enough to afford a suite, and went to utilize the suite lounge which is supposed to be included in my cruise-and it was completely full due to overcrowding by pinnacles…I would not be happy. I say give the pinnies their own space to enjoy their hard earned rewards. And I’m saying this as a hopeful, maybe someday pinnacle,  D+ ….

Last rccl we loved suite lounge on allure , pinnacle’s had their own lounge , no problem getting a table or waiter . Currently on harmony seems pinnacle’s took almost all the tables couldn’t find any table , concierge said this was rccl policy, was going to book owners suite for next year, now will book MSC yacht club.

Hahahaha. I'm onboard now too but only went once at 5 pm. Guard at the door. More people wearing pins than not wearing pins. I'm ok with it, since I rarely go at 5 pm.

Hi george, just getting caught up, but early excursion in the morning. Next 3 weeks same it says as we posted. Click on welcome aboard tab and we knew this before we boarded.

A slightly off topic but kinda on topic. People have posted no change for D+. Well actually because there are so many pinnacles they moved the D+ cheers with a officer from day 3 to day 2. It messed up peoples booked lunches. It's usually day 3. D+ was busy moving lunch. Now I'm booked day 3 izumi lunch next 2 weeks, but also who wants to have this big steak lunch, which was fabulous by the way, here on harmony and then have bogo dinner a few hours later.

So the number of pinnacles affected our cheers with a officer lunch date too. Moved the date.

We had the best fillet mignon. Everyone's was perfectly cooked. All pronounced it fabulous. Way better than chops which I think has a fillet but not this round thick fillet mignon.

Hey kookie. Because that is the current rules. I don't know what else to say about that.

The short answer to your question is because RCI says so. Suite Lounge is the name RCI chose for the name of the space. RCI can also set what ever rules they want for the space. They could call the space something like the Royal Lounge and then decide who gets access just like they changed Diamond to Crown Lounge and decided who gets access but now the name doesn't imply ownership by any particular group.

Personally, I think Suites should have their space and the C&A program should have its space. They are two different entities. If I were a Pin I'd be more upset about my benefits being determined by how many other Pins were also on the ship. However, the last time I checked the name of the CEO of RCI I didn't see my name.

I wonder if they also had a "fight" to see who got the free upgrade to business class, if they didn't have it booked in the first place.

Imagine what they would do to be the first on the ship. 🤷‍♂️😂

Yup, RCI makes the rules...we follow them....simple.

What I don't understand is letting the JS pax in?   It is allowed with RCI...but with crowding...not sure why they do, since they did not pay for a full suite.   We had one obnoxious JS pax couple (Diamonds) who pushed us out of our seats at the bar as we were trying to get a drink before dinner in CK.

Never said a word, just walked away and then just sat near Grace the hostess a few minutes before our reserved seating time in CK.

Bartender came over and apologized (he was the one that told us their status) and we told him no worries...we would survive.  They were allowed (reservation availability only) to dine in CK, but they really had no right to be at the bar.

We were in a GS.
