Just checking nothing has changed since my last RCI cruise  about 6 years ago.  During on-line checkin I had to ener my credit card details. I am Australian sailing to New Zealand on Ovation in January.   I am lucky that I had purchased a load of American dollars about 11 years ago when the exchange rate was dollar for dollar,  which was way better then than what it is now for us.

Can I just go to Guest Services on the last night of the cruise and settle my account with American dollars or do I have to let them know at the start of the cruise to cancel my CC as I will be paying my account with cash on last night of cruise?

Thanks in advance for your response.

Yep.  Just be sure to keep the receipt just in case.  We often dump last night casino winnings/leftovers onto the tab.

Yes , that’s a different question from original post. You can have cash account from day 1

Thanks.

Going off of the OP though, if I wanted to have a card on file but put cash on my account day 1 to cover most of my expected expenses up front, could I do that as well?

Certainly.  You can add cash any time.  And last night can be a zoo at Guest Services.

If you don't have a card on file they will freeze your onboard account when it hits $500 (this can vary with length of cruise) and call you to pay it down.  Lots of folks use cash accounts.

It might be a good idea to estimate what you are going to spend the last night and go to Guest Services earlier on the last day to avoid the long line. If you spend more than expected, that small amount will be placed on your credit card. Just don’t overpay and be required to cash it out before you can get off the ship.
