What happens if you don't use all your OBC

Not that I think this will happen but what happens if at the end of a cruise you have money still in your OBC account?

There can be monies in both refundable and non-refundable credit. You loose any non-refundable credit. The upside, in my experience, that gets used up first. Refundable credit up to $US 25 may be redeemed in cash at Passenger Services if you close the account the last night. More than that gets refunded to the credit card you gave for onboard use. Perhaps there are other options, but hope that answers.

That has not been my experience.  Unused refundable OBC  will be returned by check in about 4-6 weeks after the cruise.  The envelope will say “bottomline technologies” not Princess so look out for it. It is true that you can get less than $25 from GS.

YMMV on getting cash from GS.....

On the Sky last summer, no problem.

On the Enchanted in October, not only would the person at GS not give me the cash....she pretty much accused me of money laundering. (This was from reduced port fees.....so....?) When I said that I had gotten it on the Sky last summer, she said they did it wrong and should never have done it.  😮

I kept walking by GS hoping she wouldn't be there and I could ask someone else, but no such luck.

The good news is...I did get a check for the amount in I think 4 weeks. I was surprised to see it.

We had refundable obc left on the Emerald this summer. I must have gone to guest services 10 times the final evening trying to get it in cash. It was less than $20. Everyone I spoke to had a reason I couldn’t get it. I would finally get someone who agreed I was owed it, but they couldn’t get to it. Finally they said I would get a check in 4-6 weeks. 8 weeks came and went. I sent an email telling my story to every email I could find of Princess hire ups (searched here on cc). Got a response within 2 days and a check within 2-3 weeks.

While on the Island in November 9-23,  had a cancelled excursion refund ($73) added to my account the last day, too late to go to the casino to cash out.  I told Guest Services as a Canadian a US cheque would cost me more with a US cheque charge and rate of exchange.  I was told 3x that my credit card would be refunded as it was my money.  I received  my final account balance by email and it shows that $73 send to Financial Dept.  I am still waiting for the refund.

We disembarked the Crown the first week of September with a balance due of under $2.  I haven't received any refund from Princess.  Because it's just such a small amount it's not even worth my time to call Princess to ask about it.
