Ultimate World Cruise stats

Recommended Posts

Wondering if someone onboard the Ultimate World Cruise has any of the following stats or information about people doing the whole cruise:

1.  Breakdown of cruisers by age groups

2.  How many kids are doing the whole cruise

3.  How many pinnacles are doing the whole cruise

4.  If you booked a suite do you get suite benefits?  I thought I read on here something about this but can't remember and I guess there is no star class or coastal kitchen on this ship.

5. I'm wondering what the most booked cabin type is for people doing the whole cruise

I was just busy watching a few people on instagram that are doing the whole curse and excited to follow along and see how it all goes from fitting everything in your cabin you need for 9mos to the MDR (hopefully they add in some new options) to all the port days and just all the fun!

Everyone doing the full voyage.  Those that booked the full voyage as individual segments do not get those perks.

Only 680 people doing the full voyage

What about the  Speciality restaurants, how are they priced? They can't be like $65 a person can they. People aren't going to continue to use them with prices like that are they?

I guess I can see where new people getting onboard every now and then using those restaurants but not the full WC cruisers spending money like that on them, I mean really just doing excursions at all the ports will add up quite fast.

I thought I read on a previous post that the put in laundry machines and one of the washers sprung a leak and flooded out the ceiling in the casino.

I can’t imagine how the laundry could keep up with all the passengers and crew sending all their

dirty clothes to them. I can picture, since it’s included, a lot of bags being sent with just a few items. We are Elite+ on Celebrity so we each get two bags per regular cruises. When we cruised we got by just using two carryons and sending laundry in every other day or so.

1.  NO

2.  60

3.  41

4. Yes

The UWCers would be insulted to know that you think it is a curse.  😉

Those doing the entire 274 night voyage receive fully paid gratuities, DBP, laundry (self-serve + 3 bags of wash 'n' fold per week per person), free wifi for one device per person (solos get 2), 50% discount on specialty restaurants.  Those doing full segments (there are four) receive the gratuities, the DBP, wash 'n' fold laundry, wifi for one device, and 30% discount on specialty restaurants.  Those doing mini-segments do not get any of these things, but many are paying 1/3 what the others are paying.

Full UWCers also get 7 special excursions and 4 special experiences.  Business class airfare roundtrip Miami from wherever they live, or they can take a cash credit.  Gala in Miami last night, including staying at the Intercontinental, and transport from the airport to the hotel, shuttle to the ship, special handling of luggage, early access to the ship this morning.

I also wonder if those doing shorter segments feel left just a bit if the full WC have bonded and have their already made teams for trivia etc.

I agree eating in speciality all the time would add up.  Afterall the shore excursion are the most important.  Plus I think if on full WC, one would have to pace themselves and eat lots of veggies and fruits and exercise as well.  I have to wonder and hope not that no one gets sick either.

Are new C&A tiers (for quarter or full cruisers) recognized during the cruise?

Are they giving crystal blocks every 70 points (after reaching 140)?

Yes, immediate recognition for any new level.  They have even prepared the badges for the new Pinnacles.

Yes.

They are paying roughly 1/3 as much as the full UWCers.  That should make them feel better.

Maybe they should have gave them a lot more OBC for paying so much more then everyone else onboard. Feel bad for the non drinkers, they really over paid.

Does anyone know just how high the price is per per person to eat at the speciality restaurants? I know they get a percentage off to eat there but what is the regular price onboard? Is the price higher then it normally is or about the same?

They are paying ONE THIRD OF WHAT OTHERS ARE PAYING.

Regular prices in the Cruise Planner are the elevated but non-stupid (think Wonder) prices:  $40 for Izumi.  $45 for Giovanni's Table.  $56 for Chops.

They are not offering UDP - just 10 night dinner package, for $280.  The funny thing is that they are even offering it on the only 9 night mini in my segment.  😄

We’re doing 2 segments next year and will be getting a block on Serenade. We already have one, but it’s the old type, so will be interesting to see what we get this time.

Can the WC full cruisers by the $280 package with 30-40% off that $280 price?

I guess they could spend the OBC on excursions and specialty restaurants. Other than that it seems like everything is included in the fare. And I guess the spa could use up some OBC.

I would have a big problem with this I think. How I eat, drink, and exercise on a cruise is so different than when I'm home. I don't know how well I would be able to adjust my mindset on a WC.😐

I'm going to live vicariously through these fine folks because I know Royal will never do this again.

Was this kids sail free? 60 is an impressive number of kids doing the whole way. How wonderful for them.

As to people coming onboard mid-cruise, it may turn out that people are hungry for new people to interact with. I'm very curious about the social dynamic on this cruise actually.
