Good to see you starting your live. Opening post was very good, looking forward to your take on what goes on, can't have to many lives documenting all the shenanigans. You know the old line.... He said, she said, and then there's the truth😁

Before the "fun" continues, I want to be totally serious for a moment...

I'm not one of those people who are big into New Year's resolutions, but if you've ever read any of my prior so called “reviews” then you already know that I've been struggling to find some real meaning in my life for a long long time now. Working at a job that's going nowhere, and that I'm just simply too old for anymore. In addition to that, a serious drinking problem that I've been dealing with (or not) for decades. Obviously, trying to cure depression with alcohol is like trying to put out a fire with gasoline, so I really need to make progress in tackling both. Short version is, that I've spent the past several years of my life running away from my problems rather than running towards a solution.

So, the time has finally come to either try to do something about it, or just go down with the ship. I want to believe that I can overcome all this, but it's going to take a monumental effort on my part to fix it. I'm currently looking into getting back into talk therapy again after a twenty year hiatus, but I still haven't nailed that situation down yet. I'm hoping and praying that with some serious soul searching on my part coupled with the therapy and cutting down on my drinking will somehow help me get my life going in the right direction… We'll se

Sid, you have a good start. You are admitting you have a problem and need to change. Therapy is a good start. I have added you to my prayer list and will be prayin for you. May God wisdom help in your fight.

LOL Right! I used to have at least a dozen phone numbers memorized, now I can only rattle off 3 and once I cut the landline it will be down to two 😁

Grow up, but never stop being a kid... I could use one of these right about now after only a half day at work.

Ahhh, those were the days... Kids, don't forget to have lots of fun out there while you're young. Once you grow up, it's nothing but work and paying bills and such.

I only know mine and the phone number that I grew up with at the family home. I don't even know my husband's number!

A bit late to the party (#92 here) but happy to see it has started! I wish I could have been on this cruise as originally planned, but I know I will have a great time from afar as well. Almost time to start shananaging!

Getting ready now for a little tele health appointment with my doctor. Hopefully everything's okay, but getting older you never know. Unless it turns out to be something dire, I'll be be heading to Miami on Saturday morning...

.I am looking forward to follow along as usual. I am curious to see where you will be staying pre-cruise in Miami. I will be sailing on the Celebration on October 6th and haven't booked a pre-cruise hotel yet. I have used your reviews to determine where to and not to stay.

Love your style. The FOMO is real with your reviews even when I'm just office droning it, not even on a ship. You be healthy! Let's see that food porn. And, take time for you on the cruise....escape the craziness for five minutes to enjoy some solo time. We, and those onboard, will understand if you just hang out for a bit.

Now, I'm here to read up on every single word while my vicarious life takes me to Celebration!

Wow, talk about something I've been procrastinating about, and now they're pushing me to do it asap... The dreaded "camera on a long tube stuck up your backside" also known as a colonoscopy... Apparently the new age for this is 45 and I just turned 54... Looks like I'm going to get to test drive our new company insurance plan when I return from vacation...

But first, a week full of eating and drinking and possible debauchery...

After a less than stellar experience on board Virgin Voyages Scarlet Lady around Halloween 2023, luckily I had this sailing in my back pocket… Things pretty much began to fall apart on the second night, and never really recovered. I ended up getting sick in the middle of the second night, and that's not even close to the worst of what happened. If you followed along, then you already know. It ended up being my “worst cruise ever”, and the weird thing is, that my other worst cruise ever also happened over Halloween. At this point I've put that experience in the rear view mirror, and I'm ready to move on! Hopefully things on this sailing will end up being a complete 180°

Oh geez, I was worrying about keeping up with your live, @MeganGC1983's live and I just started reading @TxTeach79's Thanksgiving live. Now I realize I must have missed your VV live too??? I'm in big trouble! 🤦‍♀️Anyway, follower #105 in the house!

One more hour of work to go in this incredibly busy day, probably the busiest in the past two months... How we made some good sales and hopefully a nice bonus is on the horizon. I'm supposed to have dinner with my buddy up here from Florida either tonight or tomorrow. We usually go to the little hole in the wall taqueria where the margaritas are great and strong. Either way, I'm going to be sipping on something tonight. I currently have six non drinking nights this calendar year, which bests my total for the past two months combined... In other news: according to my lab results my liver function is 100% normal, and my doctor is aware of the amount that I've been consuming, not that he approves of it. I did tell him about my non drinking nights, so he was happy to hear that I'm at least trying to get things under control now...

The cost for this cruise wasn't too terrible, at $1,334 including $150 in obc for an inside cabin. In fact, the exact same cabin I stayed in on my first go round on the Celebration in 2022, which is one of the “sideways” inside cabins on Deck 10. I guess that I should add that I received a 25% discount on the price of this cruise due to the delay with the Jubilee, which I was scheduled to sail the week after Thanksgiving 2023. After my discount, my out the door price ended up being $1,039, so not too shabby for a seven night cruise. Carnival prices seem to have spiked soon after, and I was glad that I got on board when I did.

I ended up getting a couple of offers to upgrade as the months went by, but $488 for a deluxe ocean view isn't actually an upgrade in my opinion. Never received an offer for a balcony, but I'm completely happy with the room I already have
