I am Platinum, she is Gold - Questions

I am platinum (first time this next cruise) and my wife is gold.  So I have questions that I hope someone can answer.  But first to answer your question, the reason is because I had cruises before I met her 🙂

 

So obviously, she gets to take advantage of early check-in, boarding with me, and express guest services.  But...

 

#1 Does she get perks like laundry or is it just me?  If I get 5 bags, does she get 5 bags too, or is it collectively?  If only I get 5, should I be mean and tell her she's not allowed to put laundry in because she's only gold?

#2 The casino $25 fun play for which I now qualify, does she get it as well?

#3 The complimentary beverage at Seaday brunch, what if the cruise has multiple Seaday brunches.  Thinking it's only once, but thought I'd ask if it's every time?

#4 The VIFP party.  Is it a secret I shouldn't tell her?  Do I just say "I'm gong to the casino", and sneak away to the party, or is she allowed to join me?

 

I joke but I really want to know.  Thanks in advance.

VIFP perks are for the individual that earned them and generally do not apply to traveling partners. The only one that covers the entire stateroom of the VIFP guest is priority boarding, tendering, and debarkation.

And just to clarify. She doesn't get to take advantage of Plat. Guest Services. She gets to be able to tell YOU to take advantage of it while she has a beverage at the bar. 😁

I just got off dream yesterday and was told the last night in Mdr you get a free drink. The girl ordered and got a drink and wasnt charged. Anyone else ever hear of this?

Gold and above get one free drink (up to $10 iirc) on the night before debarkation. If it is more than $10 then you pay the difference. I always go to the Alchemy Bar and make it worth it 🙂

I get free drinks at the casino so for me, it's better than the one free drink because there is no service charge.

I'd never heard of this. I'm diamond finally and was asking how I get my 1 free drink the last sea day and got all kinds of answers. Bar tenders seem totally confused. I just wanted a Pepsi. At dinner another diamond ordered a drink a kiss on the lips and wasnt charged.

Gold has received one drink on last night since they no longer get invited to past guest party.  Plats and Diamonds do not get this perk (just sea day brunch drink).  On excel ships, plats and diamonds get one drink on final night (or after past guest party) because they don’t have servers roaming around serving unlimited drinks on those ships during past guest party due to showroom design.

Incorrect.  Only Gold, and after 5 pm on the last evening of the cruise.  Platinum and Diamond don't get this because it was a consolation prize when Golds got kicked out of the Past Guest Party (now the Platinum and Diamond Party). 

 

Exception: On Excel class Platinums and Diamonds get one drink loaded to their S&S on the last full day of the cruise because the Platinum and Diamond Party is held in the main theater, which isn't set up for full bar service.

You get one free drink at the bar, it is loaded on your sail and sign for dia, and plats.

Unless you were on an Excel class ship, no one knew anything about it because it's only a Gold, not Platinum or Diamond, perk.

Let me bootleg on this post.  My wife, platinum, gets free transport between ship and airport.  I am assuming that I have to pay for my transport. Can anyone confirm?

I assume this is an Elite or Ultra casino cruise?  If so, the offer she booked under should tell you which amenities are for just the person who received the offer and which are for both the first and second occupants of the cabin.

It's certainly not a Platinum or Diamond perk. The only time I've heard of it is on Elite or Ultra casino cruises.

Maybe Mike's wife doesn't want him to know how much she is gambling that she's getting Elite offers from the casino, so is telling him all of those perks are because she is platinum. 🤣

Sorry, it is Elite.  I know she gambles a LOT more than I do.  The cruise line doesn't care if I am aboard or not, unless that impacts her play!

No, but my husband and I only needed this service once and while and the 5 was more then enough for us on a 7 day cruise.
