Good afternoon and thanks for the daily reports.  Happy Valentine's Day.   We are dining in the PG tonight and John was going to use some of his OBC for caviar.   I didn't want to have the same mistake as last year so I checked out origin of the ship's caviar.  It is RUSS again.  I told the PG host that it was unsatisfactory due to being Russian.  He said no Siberian, I guess most people don't know Siberia is Russia. No caviar tonight.

We heard from a lot of people about our flop of a dinner in Tamarind.  First Hanse, MDR manager apologized when we sat down for our MDR dinner, then another manager from MDR mentioned it.  Finally Rodan manager of Tamarind came to our table and apologized and offered us a complimentary dinner tomorrow which I replied it was already complimentary so how about a bottle of wine which he agreed to.  Our Neptune Lounge concierge CJ also mentioned it.

Over 500 passengers went through the in transit process today so it took an extra half hour.

@JazzyVthanks for the cares and celebrations report.  Prayers for everyone needing them and the people of Ukraine.

Last night I won $1100 on a slot machine so I am ahead for the cruise by a decent margin.  Have a lovely day!  Nancy

NL flowers and a lot of cargo to be loaded.

Best wishes for a wonderful cruise.

Does your ship have Golf nets or a putting green?

The Equinox has a so called putting green with real grass on deck 15, the only trouble the grass is way too long, more like a fairway that needs cutting. The truth is I don’t want to look at a golf club for awhile.

Valentine's day is a sad day in my family,  It was 3 years ago today that my brother died.  He was doing well after back surgery and while I never heard any official cause of death I think it was from a blood clot.

I'll post more when I get back from my errands.

Roy

Same with me, my mother died on Valentine’s Day in 2005. Went in for surgery for congestive heart problems and died on the operating table.
A sad note was that she loved the Chicago White Sox and was a die hard fan and they won the World Series in October of 2005, first time since 1917, it broke my heart that she wasn’t around to see it just 9 months later.

Photo in church today with ash on my forehead.

A couple of churches here are offering drive-through ashes or "Ashes to Go."

On another subject: the county north of here has some Amish residents. Yesterday there was a buggy-truck collision in which four young people were injured. It appears that their horse spooked and ran out into traffic.

Happy Wednesday. Thanks for the Daily and Fleet reports.

Late start today as I had an early doctor's appointment. Everything looking good. Will be getting my bloodwork next week so we will see how well I am doing managing my diabetes.

Happy Valentine's Day to all who celebrate. It can be a hard day for us singles. It is extra hard as this is my mom's birthday and I lost her in 2000. I still miss her each and every day.

We were able to get through the snow yesterday. We got maybe about 5 inches. It is hard for poor Fancy to go out and do her business as she is a short dog and keeps getting stuck in the snow. We kind of made a flat area for her to go potty.

Working on my classes today and will see clients this afternoon.

Thinking of all on the care list.

Celebrating with all who are celebrating.

Have a safe and healthy day.

Good afternoon dailyites.  This is an update regarding my condition. After posting I will go back and read both yesterday's and today's posts. Yesterday at the local Heart Hospital I had a TEE followed by a right heart cath then a left heart cath.  I was sedated for the TEE then awakened before the cath's. My cardiologist talked to me after finishing the 3 tests then had a thoracic surgeon talk to me. The findings were severe Mitral Valve calcification and moderate Aortic Valve calcification. All pressures were fine and there is minimal leakage. The cardiologist says surgery is needed, the surgeon said surgery would be high risk for a stroke, that he wants to consult further with my cardiologist and also have a roundtable discussion with other valve specialists and that he will get back to me. He also mentioned an experimental procedure with apparently good results as a possibility.

I am restricted from driving for 5 days, no bending and lifting over 10 lbs for 7 days. I can bend with no lifting such as putting shoes on. Today i am having soreness but no frank pain.  Now to go read the last coupe of days.

@lazey1 prayers that the right path will unfold for you!   For some gentle encouragement our friend is doing great only two months later after open heart valve replacement,  swimming, walking and feeling much better.  I am wishing you the same but  glad your doctors are carefully evaluating!
@MISTER 67 I used to always use audio, or adieu and often youth and young.  I’ve switched to crane and it seems to be better for me.  Best of luck!   I am sorry to hear of the loss of your mom. Anniversaries are tough!

Good sunny afternoon . Happy Valentines Day and a blessed Ash Wednesday to those observing the day.

I just heard on the news about the shooting at the Kansas City Chiefs parade. 1 confirmed dead and 9 injured. 2 shooters apprehended.

Another senseless incident.

Blessings and prayers to all on our lists.

Wishing all who celebrate it a great Ash Wednesdan and welcome to Lent.  Special hugs to Jane @lazey1.  Happy Birthday @superoma twins and Lorenzo.  Thank you Rich, Jacqui, Vanessa, Eva, Ann, and Paul and thank you @Lcubed Laura for stepping up to cover Ann's cruise.  Bon Voyage @Mr. Boston.

Congenital Heart Defect Day and Frederick Douglas days are both worthy of celebration.  The Styron quote is interesting.  I wonder if Bell ever expected the volume of robocalls we would get today.

I've been trough Barra Norte Sea but do not remember it.

I'll pass on the meal.  My alternative is Chilled Strawberry Bisque, Citrus Compote with Honey and Raisins, Veal Medallion with Creamy Porcini Sauce, and Cherry Crisp as served on MS Zaandam February 14, 2012.

The Podiatrist visit went well.  He put a cushion in the shoes I wore and it felt good but I only wear real shoes when I'm away from home.  Since I got back I've had no specific cushions but no real issues.  Things are almost completely healed finally.

This is from my last major trip with my brother in 2018:

I had not heard about this, so thanks for the info. How sad - so unnecessary. Prayers for the victims and loved ones.

Quick update after our visit to eye doctor. DH’s exam showed that he is on track. The very low pressure is ok, holding well enough. Basically, hang in there but come back next week to check again, and be very careful!

This is such a tricky balance between the biological healing wanting to close up the new drainage opening, the need for enough pressure to keep the eye working right, and the meds that they use. Staying on track!

For me the challenge is to keep my spirit, head and heart aligned!  Faith, hope, trust and gratitude are strong!  Heart gets worried and scared a bit… Head can be all over the place! 🤣. Thanks all for your support, none of us walk alone!

Jane, @lazey1 thanks for your update. We’re all on your side!  So good to hear your experts are consulting together to find you your best path!

@Nickelpenny you are such a trooper, leaving at 1am!  Safe travels heading into some ugly looking weather, extra blessings going out to you!  Thank you for all your study contributions.

I could have mentioned earlier that Frederick Douglass spoke here in 1840, and it led to the founding of a church that is now called the Frederick Douglass Memorial AME Zion Church.

On the medical side, my nose doesn't look too bad at all. I've made an appointment to donate blood next week since the only requirement after basal cell carcinoma is that the surgical site has healed. OTOH, I am still coughing.

Happy Valentine's Day! I hope everyone is having a good day. I've had texts from DS, DDIL and DGD and just got off the phone with my Mom so all is good. This is the first Valentine's Day without DH and I was a bit melancholy this morning but fine now. I am wearing the earrings he bought for me last year and I'll have a glass of wine and toast him when I have some dinner. He was a keeper and I miss him.

Today was the pool for two water aerobics classes. I also stopped by the local junior college and got tickets for their production of The Music Man on March 1st. A friend and I are going and I used DD DH's account to pay for it so he's treating! Next up this afternoon is getting the income tax looked at again and ready to file and then relaxing.

Have a lovely day.

Good evening. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily.

Happy Valentine's Day! Lent has started with Ash Wednesday, for those who celebrate. Congenital Heart Defect awareness is important, so it can be corrected. I'll salute Frederick Douglass. I like the quote. Maybe on the meal, pass on the drink, and yes to the wine. I haven't been to Barra Norte Sea. 2 good days in history.

It's been a long day. I was up and out to a medical appointment this AM, then on to labwork. So I was starving when I got home around noon. I had missed a call from the Interventional Radiology nurse, so called back. I'm not optimistic about what I was told. He mentioned 2 shots, one to decrease inflammation of the nerve and one to the cyst. I asked about drainage or rupture of the cyst (which was what I was expecting), and he said that on closer exam the cyst was partly calcified and would therefore not collapse. I suspect I may not get the relief I was expecting, but I hope I'm wrong. BFF came over this afternoon, bearing roses. He helped me do some final removal of stuff from the DR. The moving people will come tomorrow morning, so I have to be up and downstairs. Then we went out for a nice early dinner (we were a bit too early, not knowing that starting at 4 apps were 1/2 price and it was happy hour).

So sad about the shootings in Kansas City at the Super Bowl parade.

@Suslor Happy Birthday to Lorenzo!

@superoma Happy Birthday to your twins!

@rafinmd Prayers as you and your family remember the passing of your brother. I'm glad to hear your foot is almost completely healed.

@smitty34877 Continued prayers for you and Tana.

@RMLincoln I'm glad a close eye is being kept on DH (no pun intended, lol).

@Nickelpenny I am glad your DGS benefitted from all the advances in treating congenital heart defects.

@ottahand7 Congrats on the casino win!

@lazey1 Thanks for the update. I hope just the right treatment is found for you.

@Cruzin Terri Very nice job by DH for Valentine's Day.

@luvteaching I'm sure today is hard; hold onto the good memories.

Prayers for the Care List and Cheers for those Celebrating.
