Port Everglades...arriving early to check in time

Recommended Posts

Yes. We were at Port Everglades last month. They did not check our embarkation time.  We arrived at 11am even though some in our party had 1pm arrival times. We were on the ship about 15min after we arrive to the port.

Our check in time is 1PM 😞

We have to check out of hotel by 11.

Can we check in early? Or where would we wait for check in?

Try to see if hotel will allow you late check out.  If not, it's much more comfortable waiting in hotel lobby for an hour then standing in a line possibly at the port.

In general most cruise lines are not enforcing check in times. VV is one of the few that still does, so you should be fine showing up early.  Maybe check out of your hotel right at 11 and head over to the port.

You're almost always allowed to check in early.

We boarded at Fort Lauderdale on the 10th, a week past Saturday. The lady in front of us told the agent on the door she had a later check in time and did she have to wait. His answer was, no you can just come right on in.

I just sailed Odyssey Feb 11 from Port everglades. My check in time was 12:30 but I got there at 11am and no one even glanced at my check in time. From drop off to boarding was 10 mins total. So fast and efficient!

In the past I would have agreed with you. However, I have been on 9 cruises since September out of 4 ports (Miami, Canaveral, Everglades and Tampa). No one verified check-in times on any of these cruises.

If you arrive after 11am you most likely will walk right into the ship.  Unless coast guard inspection then prob closer to 12pm

i think some are still held up on covid rules or one bad experience in the past.
