Sass4 Posted February 20 #1 Share Posted February 20 Our check in time is 1PM 😞 We have to check out of hotel by 11. Can we check in early? Or where would we wait for check in?

Grankm21 Posted February 20 #3 Share Posted February 20 Yes. We were at Port Everglades last month. They did not check our embarkation time. We arrived at 11am even though some in our party had 1pm arrival times. We were on the ship about 15min after we arrive to the port.
Ashland Posted February 20 #4 Share Posted February 20 Our last 6 RCI cruises arrival time hasn't been enforced.

If not, it's much more comfortable waiting in hotel lobby for an hour then standing in a line possibly at the port.

In general most cruise lines are not enforcing check in times. VV is one of the few that still does, so you should be fine showing up early. Maybe check out of your hotel right at 11 and head over to the port.
Norwich Cruiser Posted February 20 #7 Share Posted February 20 We recently had an 11.30 embarkation time at Port Everglades checked out of the hotel at 10.15 arrived at the port at 10.30 and were onboard by 11.00. I honestly don’t think it’d be an issue.

Rare FionaMG Posted February 20 #9 Share Posted February 20 We boarded at Fort Lauderdale on the 10th, a week past Saturday. The lady in front of us told the agent on the door she had a later check in time and did she have to wait. His answer was, no you can just come right on in. allie3490 Posted February 20 #10 Share Posted February 20 I just sailed Odyssey Feb 11 from Port everglades. My check in time was 12:30 but I got there at 11am and no one even glanced at my check in time. From drop off to boarding was 10 mins total. So fast and efficient! rncruiser Posted February 20 #11 Share Posted February 20 I was on Odyssey Christmas week when it was sailing at 125% capacity. Our check in time was 1:30. We arrived at Port Everglades at 10:30 and had no trouble checking in immediately.

In the past I would have agreed with you. However, I have been on 9 cruises since September out of 4 ports (Miami, Canaveral, Everglades and Tampa). No one verified check-in times on any of these cruises.

If you arrive after 11am you most likely will walk right into the ship. Unless coast guard inspection then prob closer to 12pm i think some are still held up on covid rules or one bad experience in the past.
