Yup, just recoding different category staterooms.

It happens on all the ships at different times, not a big deal.

That's when Sanctuary Club officially begins and the deck plans will reflect those cabin categories....

Technically the signature sun deck gets merged into the sanctuary, but I’m not sure what physical barriers actually separated those areas currently.

The Sanctuary is already fully open to Suite guests. The "barrier" was mainly a short fence type/gate - and basically completely ignored for Suite guests.   There's nothing to merge, as it's essentially already that way..  no real structural changes happening, as there aren't any real structural changes to make..

As a lowly Deluxe Balcony Sun passenger this August I do have some sympathy for all you rich "Suite" people. The Sanctuary situation aboard the Sun is turning into a right "Dog's dinner" of a mess.

But surely there will be many Suite guests who will happily make the most of their extra large balconies and the extra deck space afforded to those with Cabana rooms, instead of making a "B line" to the Sanctuary every day!

Whilst I have enjoyed the Sanctuary aboard Regal Princess on a couple of days, I won't miss it on the Sun. Instead I will happily "Slum it" up in the Sea View terrace.

That's 3 of us!(•‿•)

I think this particular fact is undersold, especially for wine drinkers. Don’t get me wrong there is plenty of choices on the menu for plus options and this is typically where most cruisers land. However if you like wine and want to sample some higher end bottles, then Premier is a great way to do it.

You can always pay the difference on each drink if you are on plus

You can but there is a difference in mind set between the idea of something being included and something being an up charge.

ill happily sample the catalog when its included in my package, where as I'm not necessarily going to pay extra to try something I’m not sure I’ll like.

Well both people in the cabin have to have premier and I’m a beer drinker so the double cost to me doesn’t wash with the cost difference. The up charge is still a better deal even if a few samples are wasted!

I would upgrade from Plus to Premier in a heartbeat if you got 2 specialty meals per week. But they give you 2 specialty meals per booking and I’m doing a 2-week cruise so, no.

Is it possible to book it as two one-week sailings as a b2b? Then you’d get double the dinners and sometimes the fare is cheaper.

It's not cheaper for us in the UK. I'd get less Shareholders OBC too.

For the sake of two additional specialty dinners it's a balls ache to achieve!

Yes that would be true for military OBC as well. I think the last time that breaking it up worked to our advantage was when we had booked as two 14-days sailings instead of a 28 day.

The CD said that all four will be up and running this summer..so Stagestruck - the musical theatre one - should hopefully be coming soon.

Not sure why the other thread was locked but starting a new one for general discussion about this brand new ship. Live threads are great but are only one person’s perspective and not a place to be having lots of questions and discussions that detract from their experience.

Hi everyone- I’m nearing the end of our stay on Sun Princess- happy to try and answer a few questions if you have them.

Re: library - there is none but supposedly they bring books out along with games on the 8th floor horizons dining room- haven’t seen this yet but stay tuned.

overall it’s been a lovely and elegant trip, albeit w a very rocky beginning.

Not something you would pay attention to if you can eat everything, but have you noticed a gluten free section at the breakfast buffet? They had one on the Enchanted and I’m crossing my fingers for the Sun 🤞🏻

I can eat everything but ... DW has celiac so yes, I pay attention.

You're in luck, they do have a lot of gluten free items in the buffet and they're marked as GF. Can't say they have a specific section though.

Also, the IC has a very good selection of GF items as well. You can even get most of their sandwiches specially made for you with GF bread.

And, they've outsourced much of their GF bread products. Believe it or not, much better than what they've had in the past.

While on the Sun, we ran into a bunch of Princess corporate types from the culinary team. According to their shirts they were big-wigs. My wife (who is the shy and retiring type - LOL) made a comment that the GF products had been substandard. This fellow who spoke with a German accent almost seemed to take offense and stated that his SO had celiac and he had taken it upon himself to improve the GF products on Princess. Well, DW found that he was right. Much better. Even the GF dinner rolls in the MDR were more than tolerable.

I just got off the Sun and it’s a good thing big wigs were there as the food was not the best. Also not sure what they put in the omelette station egg mix but the omelette were terrible until I copied a women in front of me in line and started ordering fresh eggs (that’s what the cook called them. Basically they are single eggs with an unbroken yoke. I always ordered a three egg omelette for a majority of my cruise.

Has anyone, sailing September 2025 or later on the SUN Princess, been able to book MDR or Specialty dining?

I thought we were supposed to be able to book dining reservations beginning 7/1. There have been different experiences amongst different CC members, and it may depend on the ship. But I'm interest in the Sun only.

We're sailing Sept 2025 and are platinum. No luck booking any type of dining. It says no dining times are available.

I booked dining for our group for most nights in the MDR prior to 7/1. (I guess there was a small window of time before they shut this down until 7/1.) I booked Love By Britto on 7/2. We sail on the Sun on 11/30.
