"Live"  Majestic Princess, 33-Days, Apr 10th to May 12th, Sydney to Seattle (+6 Nights Sydney Pre-Cruise)

Recommended Posts

Farewell Majestic Princess.   Our fourth cruise on her ended today.

Sadly she is not scheduled to return.

Last night we had a magnificent meal at The Catch.

Highly recommended.  Food is beautiful presented and tasted delicious 😋

By far the best meal we have had in years.    The Catch is only on three of the ships which is a pity.

The Surf and Turf (Land and Sea) on the Royal also came with a jumbo shrimp instead of lobster. And there was also no MDR lobster (without extra pay) on a 14 day cruise. Only Reserve Dining had it I guess.

This seems typical for OZ/NZ cruises. 45.gif

Thank You @LACruiser88!!!  That’s what I figured too. Hopefully that is the case. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the rest of your cruise and look forward to following your great live from thread🙂🙂🙂

It will be in dry dock from March 11th to April 1st.  Looked it up on a cruise timetable.

I have been looking to see what might be changed in dry dock.  We are booked on the July trans-Atlantic.

I booked the Penguin Experience at Sea Life Kelly Tarlton's Aquarium in Auckland last June. It sells out as they only allow 4 people to participate 3 days a week. Awesome experience. I used to tell my Mom, "I've been to 6 continents and you've only been to 5." So she planned a trip to South America and actually was able to land on Antartica and walk around in penguin poop. I don't think I'll make it to Antartica, but I've gotten to walk around in penguin poop. Very inquisitive little guys

We checked out the Arcade on deck 6, adjacent to the Casino.  Prices for the games ranged from $1.50 to $3.00.

Btw, there was no smoke in the Casino.  🤷‍♂️

We are trying a new Cab, to us, at Vines tonight.  At $17 per glass, we prefer the Silverado.

@LACruiser88 Me too. I tried Silver Palm last night, not having another glass.... Happy to know my palate matches yours. I'm doing my best to keep up. I like Silverado too! On Ruby 😉

Super Tuscan lunch April 24th. Cheers!

Oh boy, absolutely love the smoke free bonus of taking cruises from Australia!  But I would suspect that now that they have left Auckland and are headed east that they have lifted restrictions on smoking in the casino. For the sake of those onboard I sure hope I am wrong about that.

I'm pretty sure the turnover will be in Honolulu.

Onboard currency also has to change from AUD to USD somewhere. 😄

According to the pictures from the arcade from the post above it appears that the changeover from AUD to USD has already happened.

I think it was always USD in the arcade also on the Royal in March (roundtrip from SYD to Fiji).

But maybe they already changed it.

Wait, why do you think this is USD? AUD uses the same "$"

Because I'm fairly certain that the price would be higher if AUD.  But we will find out soon enough...

One arcade game was one US quarter back in the 80s. 😄
I wish I would have tried it on the Royal a few weeks ago, but I like to play Q-Bert and Asteroids more than todays arcade games with headsets etc.

The changeover to USD occurred when we boarded in Sydney.

Btw, I just spoke to the Casino manager.  He said the Casino will be smoke-free until Vancouver.  After that, he is hoping it will stay that way but he suspects that he will be told that it will revert to smoking.

You know what they say about great minds! 🤣  Btw, we have been alternating between the Silverado Cab, Paraduxx Blend, and the Grgich Hills Merlot.

Enjoy your cruise (and vinos 🍷)!!!

Today's lunch menu.

Today's ice creams were Oreo Cookie and Torrincino.  We have been skipping dessert, but could not resist the Oreo Cookie!  It was delicious!

After the start-up, their ice cream choices were only vanilla and chocolate.  They have now gone back to making different flavors on a daily basis.
