Greetings from beautiful Port Charlotte.

76 right now heading up to 92, it’s not rainy season yet so humidity is still fairly low for Florida.

Interesting days but meh on the quote.

I’m in on the meal.
Hard to believe Johnny Carson’s last Tonight Show was 32 years ago.

We’ve been to San Diego but not on a cruise, beautiful city.

My heart goes out to the victims of all the tornadoes the US has had so far this year, we’ve experienced quite a few hurricanes in our 30 years in Florida but IMHO tornadoes are nastier as there is not much of a warning when a twister is about to occur.

Have a great day and stay well.

Good morning everyone. It’s sunny and 63F here, soon to heat up to the upper 80’s. We’re off to Portland for the day to select furniture.

Thanks for the daily report and for all of the useful information that I can’t live without.

Three nice days to recognize, I think I’ll just be me today.

The quote is funny, a humorous start to the day.

The meal sounds tasty and nutritious, will have to wait and see on the drink.

I’ve been to today’s port once to visit a friend.  It was sunny and beautiful at Thanksgiving that year, a really lovely place.

Praying for everyone on our prayer list and for those in need of them.  Cheers to those who are celebrating happy events today!  Have a nice day everyone.

Ahoy Land! Las Palmas. After eight sea days it is nice to see land. We’ll be having some lunch and then we will go wine tasting. Return to ship for sail away, dinner and it’s the lady singers putting on tonight’s show.

A new production show team is joining the ship today.
Then it’s three more days at sea before our next port in Tunisia.

Thanks for the report and post. Bruce

Welcome to Wednesday. Thank you for the Daily and Fleet reports.

The meal and drink of the day sound yummy.

Going up to 85 today. Hot and humid. There will be full on sun. Not a big fan of the very hot summery days. Grading assignments and seeing clients round out my day. Only 140 days until my cruise!

Thinking of all on the care list.

Celebrating with all who are celebrating.

Have a safe and healthy day.

Good morning.  Thanks for the Report.

Happy Hump Day!

Sunny and warm here this morning, it's already 21°C (70°F) and should get to 26°C (79°F) this afternoon.  It feels like summer.

Three good days to observe.

Amusing quote.

The meal, drink and wine sound good to me.

I've never been to today's port.

Prayers for our world.

Have a great day.  Stay safe.

Thank you for the FR&D!!

Happy today whoever you are or however you identify!   Wife, husband, folly, person, pet, male, female or other...  Being thankful that you are awake, alive, and can experience today!!!

Bumpo...  I didn't know the name, but the recipe sounds delightful!

As do all the choices!!!

Howard and I would fall asleep listening to or watching Johnny Carson...  It was our routine!  Johnny ended 12 years before my Howard died -- and we had to create a new bedtime routine.  We gave our allegiance to Jay Leno...  but he wasn't quite the same...

I hope, whatever you do today, it's fun, it has a bit of something new to learn or experience, and it makes you smile and enjoy some part of it!!!  Hugs to each of you!!!

thanks for our Hump Day Daily, Rich and thanks to Vanessa, Debbie, Dixie & Ann.

Not sure if I should celebrate being me or not since I’m running out of patience.  If one more person asks me if I have Diabetes I will scream.  LOL.

Made the trip (which I dreaded) to the surgeon and he did give me some suggestion for supplements that may help and can’t hurt but he needs the cat scan so has sent an urgent request in.  Pretty much a waste of my time and fear.  I probably wan’t in the best of moods as I was exhausted from the night before.  Ivan was attacked by another dog.  My attempt to talk to the owner was fruitless with his belligerence so I reported him.  the dog is vicious.  Ivan is ok but i was worried since the dog pinned him down right in his sore spot on his back and he didn’t want to be touched as I kept checking for blood.

Another not fun errand today (one of DD DH’s jobs) Seems this week is appointment laden and none of them are things that I look forward to.  Oh well, it is what it is.

Prayers for those on the Care list, those suffering losses, grief, pain, health issues, worries & those that need them. 🙏. Cheers to those celebrating and cruising 🥂

Thank you for today’s FR & D, Rich! Another lovely morning. A bit warmer this morning. Yesterday was a lovely day.

Vanessa, thank you for letting us know about your BFF’s surgery. Hope you rested well last night. Remember to take care of yourself. Thank you for keeping up with all of us.

Bindi walks, chores, HIIT and a celebration of my last week in the 60s! Tough to believe.

Cheers to all who are celebrating.

May we each find a reason to smile today.

La Crema Monterey Pinot Noir 2022

I am using the 2022 vintage info, since that seems to still be easy to find. This PN sounds interesting and easy to find. Love the flavors.  Reasonable prices. Online price starts at $15.98.

Winemaker Notes

Raspberry, plum and rhubarb compote mingle with hints of tobacco leaf and earth on the nose. Cran-raspberry, boysenberry and pomegranate are underpinned by earth driven flavors of beets and black tea. Plush, richly textured with juicy yet balanced acidity and integrated toasty barrel spice.

  • 91Wine Enthusiast

This is a generous and approachable style of Pinot Noir sure to appease a large crowd, starting with aromas of strawberry, black cherry and vanilla ice cream. The palate is joyous in those same juicy fruits but balanced by decent tannins and a chipped slate minerality

Happy Hump Day.  Thank you Rich, Vanessa, Debbie, Ann, and Dixie Three good days to celebrate.

I’d call the Rowland quote strange..

A sad day in broadcasting history but a time for everything and most things come to an end sometime..

I have been to San Diego several times and also have a nephew there..

Not sure about the meal.  My alternative is  Citrus Delight with Amaretto, and Roasted Chicken with Cornbread Stuffing as served on MS Prinsendam May 22, 2015,.:

It will be hot today and I have a cardiac consult this afternoon on the other side of Baltimore so I am really not looking forward to the afternoon..

Good sunny morning. It’s already 66 and going up to near 90 and possibly thunderstorms tonight and tomorrow.
10 years ago today we had a major hail storm that caused thousands of dollars in damage to several car dealerships and broke skylights at the shopping mall. The roads looked like it was winter ice covered. I remember we lost plants in the garden.

Blessings and prayers to all on our journey.

Good morning everyone.   Thanks for the Daily and the maps Rich.  Thanks again for the enlightenment about today's days Graham.  Harvey Milk deserves a day after being assassinated for his belief in Gay rights which it was known as in those days.  A funny quote I guess.   I am sure there will be many photos of today's port.  I sailed from there in March 2017 on a Panama Canal cruise to Fort Lauderdale.  We visited my cabin neighbor who lived in Fallbrook at the time and our photo opportunities were in La Jolla on the way back to the hotel.

Thanks for the Cares and Celebrations reports Vanessa.  I hope your BFF is doing well today after his surgery.    Prayers for all on our care list, especially Maurice as he has his valve replacement surgery today, Jacqui and poor Ivan, Tana and everyone else who is ailing or grieving.  Prayers for all in war zones through no fault of their own Ukraine, the remaining hostages and the innocents in Gaza.

We are on our third day of cloudy weather and I had to go check the solar system because the generator hasn't kicked on.  Our batteries have barely lost any power in the last few days.  Happy for that.  I was able to get one load of wash almost dry on the line before the afternoon rains came and then had big thunderstorms last night.   Another gray day ahead so I don't know what I will be doing today.    I think I will write a TY note for all of the people who volunteered for the plant sale to be passed around the meeting tomorrow.  My poor brother who had such a bad time with his knee replacement had to go back to his surgeon as his knee was the size of a soccer ball.  The surgeon pulled fluid out of it and it was the color of pancake batter, ugh.   Then the idiot did not add any new antibiotic.   I called my brother when I found out yesterday and said contact your ID specialist immediately.   He told me I am already on Keflex, I said that failed you need something else now.  He has been on antibiotics ever since the botched knee replacement and now they are talking more surgery.   He needs an attorney.

@puppycanducruise thanks for the photo of your Itoh Peony, my pink one was ready to bloom the day we left.  Beautiful!

Good Wednesday morning.

Thank you to Rich, Vanessa, Debbie, Ann and Dixie for all the information.  Also thank you to Graham for explaining the days we celebrate.

i do not appreciate the quote.

The meal sounds good, but will pass on the wine and drink.

i have been to San Diego once for one day prior to a Panama Canal cruise.  We had torrential rain for the entire day.  So we stayed in the hotel for the entire time.

Nothing much to report.  DH has a podiatrist appointment at 1pm on Hilton Head.  We have decided to go to lunch while we are there.  This gives me a break from cooking for a change.

It’s a busy week.  More appointments and then I have appointments at the Mayo Clinic on Tuesday next week.  Hopefully i will get some relief from the shoulder pain.  I have been suffering from it since I fell on Feb. 5.

Prayers for everyone.

God Bless,

Terri

Good morning friends!  Sorry I'm late, I was in Falmouth walking around enjoying the day.  It is 64 and mostly sunny with a breeze.  We just finished a quick lunch and it's a little after 1 p.m. here.

Thanks Rich @richwmn for posting the Daily and Fleet Report for us.  I'm sure there are plenty of good things to celebrate and recognize today.  Sad day when Johnny left the Tonight Show!  Thanks to our gals, Debbie @dfish, Dixie @summer slope and Ann @cat shepard for your reports.

Prayers for Maurice, @ger_77's DH today as he goes through surgery, for Jacqui @kazu who is still looking for answers for that painful foot, and those recuperating from surgeries and procedures.  Also for DB, Alex and sons, the people of Israel and Ukraine, the hostages, and the military members in the region.  Congrats to all celebrating happy events and cruising.  Thanks Vanessa @JazzyV for posting today and hope you have good news on BFF's recovery so far.  I haven't had time to read the above posts.

My cold is still with me, but not terrible.  I should take a cold remedy to help with the nose blowing.  After all, we carry that stuff with us for a reason each cruise, don't we?

We met a nice couple from Scotland who live in Denver on our tender ride back to the Zuiderdam.  They are President's Club two times over!  Over 3000 days on HAL.  Wow!  Her name was Sandra too.  Hope to run into them again during the long voyage back to Boston.

Port of the day is San Diego, California.  This was the port before on Sept. 17, 2021 and Jan. 4, 2022.  Links will follow with some photos too.

Have a great day, y'all!  Stay safe and keep well.

The following photos were taken prior to a 2017 Hawaii, Tahiti, and Marquesas cruise on the Maasdam.  Our cruising friends who live in La Jolla picked us up and took us to their lovely home to spend the night prior to embarking.  But first we went to lunch at Bali Hai on Shelter Island.  Here's the view across San Diego bay from our table at the restaurant.00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhGheqtVJp25brxSHTuBWiTt-Gnf4p?cn=THISLIFE&res=medium&ts=1493589679

Following that we drove to Port Loma peninsula where we viewed the Cabrillo National Monument.  Nice views from up there.00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhGheqtVJcRKK9KqYiNBflbl15MkIw?cn=THISLIFE&res=medium&ts=1493589688
