blarko Posted June 11 #826 Share Posted June 11 Enjoyed the not live review, although the actual live reviews keep me refreshing the page to follow along with the shenanigans in real time. I also missed “people doing stupid things” updates and photos. 6

(The streaker, for example) But, I've definitely decided that I won't do another "review" like this again... It's either the "full Monty" Live or nothing... 12
Beachiekeen Posted June 11 #828 Share Posted June 11 I feel like doing the live review allows you to connect with your audience in a way that the post-cruise review can’t, which I would think would be fun when you’re traveling solo. It can make it seem like we’re there with you. But it must also be a ton of work and can also take away from your vacation. So in the end, like everyone has said, do what’s best for you. We’ll be here for it either way. 👍

loretta Posted June 12 #830 Share Posted June 12 I LOVE your live reviews and hope that you will still continue them in some way. I noticed at least one post from the after cruise review you said that you said you were bored which probably led to sleeping more than you usually would. Some of your posts didn't have your usual excitement about your adventures, food or drinks. If Alchemy couldn't provide you with a favorite drink, I would go to another bar instead of settling to drink Dirty Martinis which don't seem to be your style. It was so wonderful how you helped clean up the mess from the dropped Alchemy drinks and I wish you could have shared that in the moment and what the beautiful bartender's reaction was! I imagine you get a rush from sharing your shenanigans in the moment, as do we, and the interactions with your followers (which you have many more than you think)! I hope you can find another cruise that will align with your limited time off. We love your on the ground reporting!

Volsfan86 Posted June 12 #834 Share Posted June 12 Thanks for doing this review. Live or not, it was still very entertaining and informative. Now I've got to go to that steakhouse in Aruba.
wesorbeth Posted June 12 #835 Share Posted June 12 Your live reviews are fantastic, this was enjoyable as well. That being said, I do not even take pictures on vacation anymore. I like to live in the moment and totally disconnect.
Webecruzen Posted June 12 #836 Share Posted June 12 Thanks for doing this review. I will always follow for the content and pictures. We have not been on this ship. We do enjoy the dining options on the excel class ships better. This itinerary sounded great. Trying to branch out more now. Have a Princess booked and the September 2025 Virgin Cruise some of the Tribe are doing.

#55worktoplay Posted June 12 #838 Share Posted June 12 Thx @sid_9169 I enjoy your reviews however you deliver them. What is important that you either do live or not but nothing is not your fans choice 😀. Just kidding if nothing is your choice that’s cool. Did you feel more relaxed not doing a live? It certainly wasn’t boring at all just different than your usual reviews. If you got more relaxation not doing a live then you should stick to that.
meskel503 Posted June 12 #839 Share Posted June 12 I really enjoy reading your reviews and hope for more in the future. But as others have said, do what is best for you.
tradewinds traveler Posted June 12 #840 Share Posted June 12 We had a horrible time with disembark on the Horizon in Feb. Carnival should do something about the disembark. We followed the time to disembark however so many don't. It took us over an hour to get off. In November when we cruise, I think we just wait until later to disembark.
wrcjr98 Posted June 13 #841 Share Posted June 13 I read all the horror stories on disembarkation, but, I'm married to the guy who signs up for the earliest time - and we're out of our room, bags in hand by like 6:45-7:00 a.m., so, even though it's not my favorite, it sounds like it may be the way to go?

I normally just stay on board until last call, but in this case I had to catch a ride to Ft Lauderdale for my flight home.
Rare sid_9169 Posted June 13 Author #843 Share Posted June 13 Separate from the usual survey, Carnival also sent me a survey about the casino, which I spent exactly eight minutes playing in...
dallasdan Posted June 13 #844 Share Posted June 13 @sid_9169 I booked the Citizen M Brickell for my upcoming Magic cruise in August. I now you mentioned you like SO Cal Cantina. What was the other place you liked?
pohlerbear Posted June 13 #845 Share Posted June 13 Sid I enjoy all of your reviews. This one maybe not as much as others, but the question is live/ vs post cruise how it impacts your experience on board. That's what is most important!

Still walking distance you have Trulucks which is more upscale, but with good happy hour bites. Across the bridge is Lost Boy and Over Under, which are dive bars with great food and drinks. Tobacco Road is also good, and only two blocks from the hotel... 4

Came out to $213 total with the taxes and fees.

Our first trip on the Horizon. Is this at the Plaza Bar, or is it not marked on the deck plans? Trying to see where this might be but not really seeing anything else other than the Shake Spot right next to JavaBlue.
straitlover1965 Posted June 14 #849 Share Posted June 14 Love reading your reviews, live or not, even if I never comment. 🙂 Sorta OT: whenever you mention the rug store, I can't help but think of the SNL Chandelier sketch. Is your store anything like theirs? LOL 1

Yes, the area marked Plaza Bar is what I've been calling Ocean Plaza Bar, AKA: the "secret coffee line"...
