No More $25 Casino Credit

Recommended Posts

I just saw on FB that tge Casino credit is now gone. They haven't replaced it with anything else yet but it was said to have been temporary for Covid(which is true) but they haven't brought back tge slot tournament entry back which it had replaced. I'll add screen shots from FB.

Surprised they haven’t brought back the slot and blackjack tournaments.  Those seemed like huge money makers.

Do they make as much as the casino operating as normal though? I guess that's the question.

Also new is the seaday brunch drink is only good on the last day of the cruise. What a joke. Why even have the perk at that point? How much does a bloody mary or mimosa actually cost them that they have to further restrict it. They should be ashamed.

For the tournaments it was buy one get one free so did make some money vs just giving away $25 in free play with no guarantee of them spending more.  There’s plenty of time during the day to operate the tournaments that wouldn’t take away from regular gambling going on.

i hate the seaday brunch drinks. why is it limited to only brunch and the dinning room? the gold drink coupon can be used anywhere on the ship and was sooo much better . this platinum benefit sucks

The Gold drink was originally a consolation given to them when they were removed from the past guest party. That is why it has less restrictions.

The sea day brunch drink is given to P&D's in addition to the past guest party.

Of course now that the past guest party is a shadow of its former self maybe it's time to eliminate it altogether. A free mimosa, a Wish.com fanny pack, and a few "bags" of free laundry aren't moving the needle.

I'm not a gambler, but tried the $1 slots with my $25 credit on my 5/17 Venezia cruise and won $80 & promptly cashed out.  My DW also did the same and won $75 then walked away.  Perhaps there were to many of us doing the same and it became a loser for Carnival.  On another note, I also noticed the one-time donation to St. Jude for reaching diamond status has also gone away in the past couple of months.

Well darn, I enjoyed the $25 funplay! Before they did that I had never stepped foot in the casino before (unless it was my muster station) and I had fun trying the slots.

I didn't think the $25 free play was a covid thing. I thought that was when they were temporarily just giving $25 cash instead.

But what do I know? I'm just a lowly gold. 🙂

Once again Carnival sneaks a change in with no announcement. They're hoping we're not watching but they are wrong. Thanks for sharing.

We just got off the Venezia, and learned of the drink change….seems that was the last time we’ll have $25 casino play also. We did 6 Carnival cruises over the last year and on all of them used the “free drink” on the last day or so, and used it at bars, not the dr and sea day brunch. Seems that’s history also now.

Before Covid it was free slot tournament entry then it changed to Bogo entry. Then the $25. I hope they bring back the slot tournament because I never got to do it. I made Platinum after covid.

Wow I was just on the Carnival Jubilee last week and both my wife and I got our $25 free play chip from the casher. I took both to the craps table and turned it into $400 and cashed out. Did I break the bank and spoil it for everyone?🤣

I see its no longer listed as a VIFP perk.

So these are the brilliant changes to the VIFP program that has been the talk of the town?

If you think this is brilliant, hold your hat because it's about to get even brilliant-er!

While I fell the same way about the pull back, not sure what the value of announcement is.

I think it is just a way to help carnivals bottom line and not think about the loyal customers to change the arcade from $18 to $5 only free drinks on last day in Mdr and no slot tournments or $25 oh how things change I guess you just have to live with it or move on

I was just thinking this. This is what we always do… win some and cash out.
