Tender in Santorini

Recommended Posts

Hello Celebrity Cruisers !

I have booked a private tour in Santorini and want to meet the  driver at the Ferry port. Is it possible to get tender tickets to the Ferry port if I am not on a cruise line excursion. Will be on the Infinity in a Sunset suite. Many thanks in advance.

When we went to Santorini the tenders went to the main tourist area drop off and not near the ferry launch site. Maybe that's changed.

When we went for ship excursions it dropped us off at one location and continued on to the main area where the cable cars are. I think people who didn't have excursions with the ship were dropped there for the tender

In addition if you are Elite or above they have priority tendering and no tickets are required.   You show up in a designated lounge and they escort you when a tender is available.

If you are asking to be dropped off at a spot other than near the cable cars where the tenders drop off that’s  unlikely.

we were on Infinity two weeks ago, The tenders at Santorini only drop off near the cable cars.

Unless you’re on a ship excursion, when you are dropped at a different port to join the excursion bus.

No, cruise ships never dock at the new port, always tender to the old habour far away. Since many many years.

This is not about docking at the small ferry port which would be impossible anyway. Tenders for ship exursions with busses always go to the ferry port to access the busses easily. Other (and most) tenders go to Fira and the cable car.

Yes. That’s exactly what I said. I never mentioned ships docking. But was discussing tender operations.  There’s no room for large ships to berth anywhere. The ferries operate differently.

The "No" in my reply was related to "Maybe that's changed" 😉

It has been a while but when we had to meet a private tour at the ferry dock we arranged a water taxi from the tender dock near the cable cars and donkey trail over to the ferry pier.  Check your roll call and see if you can find some others to join you to cut the per person cost.  We booked the water taxi in advance so they were waiting for us when the tender docked.

The changed bit being that TENDERS might now go to the jetty.  Not the whole great ship.  😉  Everyone else got it.
