Casino Wire Problem

Sorry. The title is correct, but also might be a little click-bait-y. I'm having trouble sending the wire transfer for casino funds on an upcoming cruise. My bank requires the recipients address, which is oddly not listed on the wire instruction. Any chance anyone has dealt with this before and maybe knows the address they use? Customer support can't help me, and I can't get a response from anyone with the cruise line. I can't be the first person to run into this issue. I'm hoping maybe someone can help me. I apologize if this info is up in another thread. I'm new here and didn't see it. Going on my first cruise at the end of the month. Thanks in advance if anyone has any info.

I tried. That's the phone on both the Royal and Celebrity wire instructions. The number at first appears to be casino specific, but ends up just sending you to general customer service. I spoke with 3 different people there today. Not one knew anything helpful. Thanks for responding.

I think I would not wire transfer money to organizations or people that it was difficult to transfer to. It might be a scam. 

 

You can use your seapass card to withdraw money on your seapass/room account once you are onboard. Please do not bother with wire transfers.

Well... While I appreciate your concern, it's to Royal Caribbean Cruises. The wire information (though lacking the address) is linked on their legitimate websites in the casino section. Customer service acknowledged the exists of it, and they verified all the info on the instructions, but couldn't help further. I'm not at all concerned that there's a scam afoot. Thank you for your reply though.

although I see absolutely no reason to do this, the instructions are on the rccl site  After you send the money you have to follow thru and tell them you sent it so they can make sure you receive it when you board.  
Why would you even do this?  Use a credit card, bring cash, open a line of credit. 
First you should call the casino department and make sure what is posted online is correct.

No one reached out me. It's an option on both Celebrity (who I'm actually traveling with) and Royal. They are the same company. They both do business as Royal Caribbean Cruises, Ltd. Both receive wires to the same account. While the info is a little harder to find on the Royal site (it's in the FAQ), it's made very obvious on the Celebrity site. It located right where you can also apply for casino credit. Below is a link. It's just a quick scroll down. You'll see the same thing I've snapshotted in the attachment.

my question is why. What’s the advantage of this.  Why would you do this?    Makes no sense.

I did call and I was able to confirm the info on the wire instructions to be correct . While they confirmed all the info listed, the people who work for there customer service do not know the companies address associated with the account.

Not sure why my why matters, but...

 

I can't use my seapass because it'll be attached to someone else's credit card. Without discussing the amounts I like to gamble with, I rather not travel with the cash. The fees it'll cost me to do ATM withdrawals would be a very large sum. Oh... And for personal reasons I don't do casino credit. So seems like the most sensible option, unless you know another means I haven't considered.

I have been a club royale casino member for several years and have never heard of anyone wiring funds.

 

Heck, people have enough trouble getting online gift certificates redeemed and applied to the correct sailing.

 

I surely would not wire funds to Royal and then hope it make its to your account once onboard.

If a major hassle now expect it would be a hassle locating your money once onboard.

 

If you must do this then maybe wait until day 1 and speak directly with casino host to see if you can wire funds then.

when you check in just have your credit card attached to your sea pass, easily done.

I would give up on wiring money

I have given up on the process just because of the difficulty of setting it up and then trying to make it work in the Casino. 

 

As others have said it is easier to take cash (just remember to split the cash up between folks in $10K increments)

I recently sailed with a friend who has only sailed with Royal Caribbean a few times and has no status with the cruise line or in the casino.  His issue was not with a wire transfer (honestly, I have never even heard of anything relating to a wire transfer involving the casino) but he had pre-arranged a line of credit with which to gamble (or so he thought) to avoid the "convenience" fees but it never went through properly DESPITE the fact that he had an email confirming that it had been successful and all was "good-to-go". To say that he was unhappy is a gross understatement.  I'm certain that he will never sail with Royal Caribbean again, unfortunately.  It was a hot mess.

 

So I don't think these "credit work-arounds" are particularly reliable. I think they are infrequently used and therefore the process is imperfect.  Based on my friend's experience I would never recommend it.  Maybe they will get their act together at some point but right now, it doesn't appear that they have.

I don't understand how people don't understand the OP's desire.  You have to know that nearly every casino in the world offers this service. Please also note that while gambling $100 may be a lot for some people, I have wired over $50K for a week long trip (not royal)--certainly not an amount I'm going to walk around with.  Different expectations  may result in different processes, hence the desire to wire funds.

Why not add your own card to the account rather than someone else’s.

Because that’s what forums are for. To understand situations and see why one would do something that’s not common or easy to do like the issues the OP a is having.    And no I wouldn’t walk around with 50k cash.   But I do carry that and more in a plastic card.

So  you don't have to carry $50K in cash in your pocket when boarding the ship.

You cannot charge 50k to your seapass card which is why high rollers will do a wire transfer. 

 

 I'm sorry nobody was able to help answer your question here and as I don't gamble enough to need a wire I cannot help either. I would try posting your question on the cruise casino forum or search out FB groups dedicated to Club Royale. Lots of helpful people over there and surely someone will know the answer.

Have to agree, what is the point.  Unless maybe OP is planning to gamble a LOT of money and needs to have it available onboard.

Just a thought. Can you have a cashiers check made out to Casino Royale (or whatever), and hand it to them at the window in the casino? I don't know if that will work or not, but it's worth looking into.
