Happy Monday. Thanks for the Daily and Fleet reports.

Going up to the mid 80s today. Back to summer for the next couple of days.

Grading assignments in four classes and starting up with a new class this week. What fun.

Had a great Zoom visit with my brother yesterday who lives across the state. We do this once a month. Lots of laughs. We will see him and my sister-in-law next month for my nephew's wedding.

In honor of National Dog Day, Fancy says hi.

Happy anniversary to @CrabbyPatti and @jodi58!

Happy Anniversary Purrfect Cat Couple Humor card #Ad , #AFFILIATE, # ...

Thinking of all on the care list.

Celebrating with all who are celebrating.

Have a safe and healthy day.

Good morning,

A very quick post to check in.

We have lots to do this morning before we leave for Jacksonville about noon.  One of those things is going to the Dermatologist at 11:15 to have the stitch removed for the biopsy they took on Jim’s leg last week.

So have to get moving.

Will probably post after we get to Jacksonville.

Appointments are all tomorrow.

Have a great day.

God Bless,

Terri

Good morning and Happy Monday from Halifax!

Yesterday I went by tender to Bar Harbor. Last time I was there was in 2009. It hasn’t changed much since then. After walking around I met up with Debbie @dfish & Sue for lunch.

I finally figured out a way around so I can post pictures. I’m not sure what changed and when but I’ve been having issues for about two weeks.

For the Garden Club:

Lunch at Stewmans. Lobster bisque:

Good morning everyone.  Thanks for the daily updates.  Hats off to dogs, toilet paper and web mistresses.  I woke up to loud thunder but no rain.  It’s still rumbling but the sky is blue out the bedroom window.  I guess we should be prepared for anything today.

I like the interpretation of today’s quote of ignorance is bliss rather than the actual quote.  You always know something about something.

I will pass on the meal suggestion but say yes to the drink.  It sounds delicious to me.

I haven’t been to today’s port but I have been enjoying the photos that @StLouisCruisers has been posting!

Prayers for those on our prayer list.  Cheers to those who are celebrating happy events today!🥂

Good Monday Morning Dailyites!  I slept on the bed last night, and after waking up 3 times, and finally got off the bed at 7:10 I realized that the bed is too soft, and I sleep with less pain on the firmer but smaller space on the sofa.  So I guess until I buy a new mattress that's firm enough for me, the sofa is my friend.

Its 71 degrees, and the weather folk are talking about temps being very high by Wednesday..  Lots of chores to do today before I start work.  I start at 4 and will work until 9.  Will make crock pot pulled pork, using tenderloin, which will feed us for several meals.  And make coleslaw.

I tried to find a card from the cats for National Dog Day, apparently this is not a day that cats celebrate.

RE: the quote.  Does it equal Ignorance is Bliss, or does it allow us to learn something new everyday?  If I know nothing, then I can learn everything.  However with my brain, I can learn today, forget in an hour, and relearn tomorrow. Which is why I write everything down, and then loose what I wrote down, and I rewrite it again. I learn through repetition. LOL,

Good morning, thanks for the Fleet Report and Daily!  Yay for all the Daily dogs who get to celebrate today.  I knew toilet paper was important, but not enough that it had it's own day!  And a big high five for all web mistresses out there.  I beg to differ with today's quote.

A brisk start today for us with the temp sitting at 7C(44), but according to most of the weather sites, we should get to a very comfortable 25(77) later in the day.  It really does feel like the "f" word (fall) out there this morning as I went out to turn on the fountain for the birds.  This week the teachers return to the classroom for prep and instruction before the students come in next week.

Yesterday started with a sad phone call - when DH was in high school, he and 3 other fellows who lived on farms boarded with a family in town, and the last of them passed away in his sleep overnight.  That leaves DH as the last man standing, so there's a bottle of whiskey somewhere that he is to dig out and have a drink to salute them, as was their plan.  It's interesting, as DH has had the most health problems over the years, yet the others are gone first.  Strange how things work out.

@CrabbyPatti and @jodi58 wishing you and your respective spouses a very Happy Anniversary!

@Vict0riannI'm glad to hear Pat was able to come home yesterday; I'm sure he'll be able to recover much quicker there than in hospital.

@ottahand7 sorry to hear your DB had a flare up; hopefully things will settle down soon for him.  That's frightening to know your neighbour had a wolf on her doorstep!!!

@kazuthere are always too many cooks in the kitchen when it comes to planning, although many are just advisors, not helpers.  From experience, I know you're great at what you do!

Safe travels to all who are heading home or venturing out to appointments today.

I'm writing down the drink of the day for research purposes, will pass on the wine, and a hard pass on the cauliflower and butter (lima) beans.  We've still got some salads to finish, but will get DH to grill a couple of burgers to go with them that we can enjoy on the deck tonight.  And wine.

Prayers for everyone who is in need, cheers to all with celebrations.

Smooth Sailing!  ☺️☺️☺️

Gerry

Vanilla Sky cocktail:

There is no way you can resist the vanilla sky cocktail, which is a twist on a Caribbean cruise drink you've probably had before. Delicious tropical flavors and smooth vanilla dance through this cocktail experience, with vanilla dueling pineapple flavoring.
Ingredients:
3/4 oz. lime juice
.25 cup pineapple juice
3/4 oz. orgeat syrup
1/1/2 oz. vanilla vodka
1 1/2 oz. orange curacao
Directions:
In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, Combine vodka, liqueur, syrup, lime juice, and pineapple juice and shake until chilled.
Pour into a glass filled with ice and garnish with pineapple and/or mint(optional).

Sharon, those clams look phenomenal. It is the second thing I miss most about New England. My family is first.

Good morning from a sunny central Texas where it is 79F and already feels like 83F.   When I checked the wind speed it says calm.  The humidity isn't too bad at 76% with a dew point of 71F.  The predicted high is 94F, which is I hope as high as the temperature goes today.  After about three mornings of waking up too early, I slept until after 7:30, and that made a big difference.  There's not much on the agenda, and I hope to finish a project I've been working on for the last three weeks.

I wish I could celebrate national dog day with our dogs, but sadly they crossed the Rainbow Bridge.  Toilet paper is a necessity, but it's own day?  I will honor all the Webmistresses out there.

I also agree with those who don't care for or agree with the Desiderius Erasmus quote.

The grilled cauliflower steaks might be good, but without the butter beans.  While butter beans include lima beans, growing up my mother called the green ones lima beans and the white ones butter beans.  Either way, I did not like them.  The drink might be good on a BHB, and I'd like to try the wine.

We visited Tromso in 2005 on the old Marco Polo, and it was wet that day.

A good day in 1682 when Edmond Halley discovered the comet later named for him. When Halley's comet made it's last appearance in the late 1980s, DH set up his telescope where all the neighbors were invited to join us and view the comet.

The introduction of the Morris Minor in 1959 was a good day for the British automotive industry.

@StLouisCruisers  Sandi, I hope you and Dennis have a smooth, safe and on time flight today.

@kazu  Jacqui, some people who tell others how to do their job should just be ignored.  I wish some of us lived closer so we could lend a hand.

@ottahand7  Nancy, I'm surprised your DB was sent home yesterday.  Just wow on your neighbor finding a wolf on her front deck.

@smitty34877  Terry, enjoy "The Godfather" movies.

@Denise T  Thanks for the picture of Fancy.

@Cruzin Terri  Terrie, I hope all goes well with your DH at the dermatologist today.  Safe travels to Jacksonville.

@Sharon in AZ  Sharon, thanks for the pictures from Bar Harbor.  I'm glad you got the picture uploading from your phone figured out.

@aliaschief  I  hope you have smooth and on time flights today, Bruce.

@ger_77  Gerry, our condolences to your DH, you and his classmate's family and friends.

@puppycanducruise  Thanks for the information about Babe Ruth's jersey selling for so much.  Some people have more money than they know what to do with it.
