my girls are 15 &11 at the time of sailing. I have done the research based on these threads and I think I am going to go for cabin 7397 (7404 is booked). the difference looks like it would be @ $400.00

7404 is booked or being held by a travel agent in a group booking?

You will not see all availabity. 7404 IS availabile for your sailing. On Carnival web page you can put cabin numbers in to see if its available. You would have to put all 4 passengers in to see that.

7397 is a good choice also.

Anyone been in this room. How obstructed is the view. It is a 7A. I went to the web site and it looks like the lifeboats are on the floor under us. Anyone have pictures or can you help. I may need to change rooms. I did get a great deal though. Thanks everyone. Great Thread.:D
The lifeboats will be outside your balcony (on the same level) but this cabin is good for the savings. We had 5234 and the lifeboats do not block you from looking out, only down. The lifeboats towards the front obstruct the view more as the first three boats are taller.

For a more indepth explaination of the 7A's on the Spirit class go to my website at www.seauonboard.com and click Cruise 101 - FYI on Cabin Selection.

It would depend on what you are expecting..and how much $$ it will cost to go to the next category.

7A's - the lifeboat comes to the railing. You will not be able to see down into the water. (cant do that with an 8A either as those lifeboats will be below those balconies.

this gentleman is standing on a 7A balcony

Balconies are very narrow also

I already posted a separate post but thought I would add to this post also. This SY room is fine but if you really want to use the balcony at all times, I would not book this room. On some days we were not able to go out there at all because it was drenched with sea spray. We spoke with our neighbors in that location and it was the same for them. We were not sure what the problem is, location, forward of midship elevators, wind conditions or life boats below. We booked in June for this DEC cruise and these and the equivalent on the other side were all that was left. Now we know why!

Thank you Sea U On Board. What a great website. This will be my 9th cruise and you taught me alot. I booked this room on the 12 days of Chrismas special for $479. Gotta Love It. As long as I'm not in the dark. Thanks again for all the work you put into that site. Happy Sailing

Serene56-- thanks for all the advise. I looked at all of the deck plans and decided to book cabin 6315 on the Glory. it looks like this is right over the shops and close to the atrium. any additional input on this? I went this route due to the $200 difference between the 8A and the 8B.

Thank you. I learn something new everyday and try to keep the site as up to date as possible.

To dar76 - you will love that location. Our friends had that cabin on the Conquest in 2003 and we've had 6335 twice on the Conquest. Great location, convienent to everything (up and down) - no noise from below (as you avoid the casino and the club area below) or above (because of cabins).

does anyone know if there is a problem with the lifeboats interferring with the view from this cabin?

On the Glory Lifeboats are recessed under a deck. The lifebaots will be above you while walking the public decks on deck 3. You will not have any obstruction. That is only on the Spirit class ship.

As the subject line notes we have a block of three rooms, one of which is 7194. My mother is terribly worried that they are too far aft. I'm certain that they'll be fine. Does anybody know if these are good rooms who has sailed them on any M-class ship?

Anyone have any input about this room? Carniva Sensation R160. We called and they said the big white box in the diagram is a storage area-not sure how this will work out for us, since it's near the elevators, middle of the ship and the lowest deck above all the staff and what not.

I don't foresee a problem as we may not end up in our room until late anyway but who knows . . .

who did you ask tha question to?

if memory serves me-- it is an exit. there will be a hall way wall over he door and you shouldnt even see the exit.

we had the same area on the miracle--1211 and it was an exit area.

  • 2 weeks later...

We have cruised many times in AFT Cabins and LOVE them, but we are concerned about the layout of this ship - - steel structure hendering our favorite view. Does anyone have experience on these ships? Any pics? Your input would be greatly appreciated. Currently we are looking at Liberty of the Seas 9704. Would that view be different than when we sailed Brilliance of the Seas (Cabin 9258) = loved this huge balcony and terrific view? Thanks for your help!!

if you go to webshots --do a search BonnieVoygaer. She has a fabulous compiling of aft shots that can help you with your decision.

We hve stayed on deck 8 of the Voyager- There is a crew deck on deck 6 which will keep you from looking down into the waters. Yes, I would do it again. the balconies back here are more private--more quiet- so the steel structure is worth is. If i was not prepared for it--it would have een a shock.

You may want to read what RCCL has for a description of this cabin. Its an E1 with basically just a door going out to the balcony and the door has a window and it says it has limited ocean view. Yesterday I almost booked 8710 on the Freedom and after reading that I found pictures and 8710 was really bad. I wasn't looking at deck 9 but you may want to find pictures of the aft. I went to webshots but I can't remember where I saw the picture. hope this helps.

this is a limited view balcony. The balcony is worth the limited view IMHO as it is so much bigger then a side balcony. THe corners do have doors instead of sliders.

Thanks so much for this great picture!! It makes me think that 9704 will be OK . . .however, SWMichigan Cruiser mentioned the RCCL description. YIKES!! I'm nervous!!

Do you miss anything because you have a door instead of a slider? Is the balcony still a larger size? What about the "limited ocean view" for Staterooms 8410, 8710, 9404 & 9704 as stated on their web site?? This is what has me so concerned.

Would that mean that my balcony would only be about 1/2 the size, too? The huge balcony is what makes it ALL worth while!!

Thanks so much for ALL your help / expertise!!

I've been on the Liberty and we had 1700 that was a great cabin thats a D1 and I have that or 1400 reserved on 3 other cruises we have booked either on the Liberty of the Seas or the Freedom of the Seas. For the other cruise I have 8712 so far. If you want to email me at BAnderson4750@aol.com I will try to forward you two pictures I found on webshots that show something that may help you. It does look like deck 9 is better than deck 8. But the balcony doesn't look very big. Hope this helps. Bob

Has anyone Heard anything bad about Triumph 8427 or 8422?

Curious to know if they have noise problems with the Lido being right above?

Thanks

you "might" hear scraping of chairs throughout the time. You wont hear people walking or talking. But you are in an area that is not used as much as say in the middle of the lido deck.

(Did you check to see if the corner cat 9A are available.. these are well worth the money for the balcony alone.)

DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT BOOK CABIN U2 ON this ship!!!!!!!!

The room is right next to a 'crew door', if you dont know what a crew door is, it is basically a door that the crew uses to go to the 'back of the house' and they use that door 24/7! I hardly slept on the cruise because the door kept slamming shut all day and all night

So unless you hard a super hard sleeper or dont plan on being in your cabin or dont plan on sleeping at all on your cruise, then stay away from this room!!!!

you were lucky- usually when you book guarantee..you gotta take what they give you-- whats the chance you will get moved again before your sailing?

Did you get an extended balcony with the move?

SPirit class ships are different when comparing that noise with other ships.
