Thanks Maryln!

FLbeachbaby, try the CS Web Site. I just made my res for next Saturday and before I went directly to their Web site, Travelocity said no rooms were available. Plus, based on above posts, if you 'call' they will require a 2 night minimum - not so on the Web site.

My rate for next week was $179 + $21 taxes = $200

(for 4 people - 2 adults/2 kids under 12)

I understand there are about $24 of additional charges (for the adults). But even at $224, this is WAY less than what the excursion would have cost on Carnival AND way less than day passes bought directly from Atlantis.

I wonder if they (Atlantis) realizes what a common practice this is......

Carnival should work out a deal with CS to include a hotel room in the "shore excursion" and make a package of it. CS would have guaranteed 100% occupancy and Carnival would get some of the Atlantis excursion business back!

Oh well, good for us cruisies!

Thanks for the info everyone :)

shhhh!! don't tell everyone!

CS gets plenty of business and Carnival/Atlantis are not hurting either. Carnival has enough people using the pass to make it worthwhile for them. The excursion does include travel to and back to ship, plus booking thru the ship it is "guaranteed". If for some reason you do not stop/late/raining/hurricane at Nassau you would not be out any money. Many opt for this.

I used the internet and was able to get a room for the 22nd. It was $200 AAA rate. I am still nervous about this as it seems a bit devious and I am one to go by the book. We are only in Nassau 8-5 so I am hoping we will make good use. Now you all are sure this is the way to go right???

Don't worry. There's nothing devious about it! I had a room booked at CS in April until I saw a special for Atlantis through travelzoo. They didn't blink an eye when we checked out in the evening of the same day we checked in. People do it all the time at CS & Atlantis!

I am sooo bummed! We will be there from December 30 to December 31. During that time, the Comfort Suites web site is not even allowing a one night stay. It says 3 night minimum...:(

To me with the dolphin adventure included in Carnival excursion, it sounds like a blast.

The Dolphin excursion is not part of the basic Carnival Aquaventure excursion, which is what the Comfort Suites 'deal' being discussed is equivalent too, minus transportation.

The Carnival packages that include Dolphins and the Aquaventure park start around $220 per person.

You can do the Comfort Suites and book the dolphin experience separately through other sources. I saw prices for the dolphin experience starting at $123 per person.

The Paradise Island All inclusive is at the Paradise Isalnd Harbour Resort (about 10 minutes from the Atlantis).. It's a crappy motel 6 hotel on the harbour with no beach to speak of (a tiny slip of manmade beach on the dirty harbour). The pool is dirty, the hot tub skeevy and the food inedible.

Save your money and go elsewhere.

The Atlantis is a huge hotel complex with a casino and waterpark. In order to use the pools, beaches or waterpark, you'll need a day pass ($105) which does NOT include any food.

You can walk around the lobby, casino and marina at Atlantis for free, but you'll need a day pass for anything else.

If you are just looking for a nice place to hang out on the beach and sip a few drinks.. head to the Hilton (downtown) or Wynhdam at Cable Beach - each have day passes for about $15/20pp.. and have nice beaches, pools, bar and grills etc.

As for the Atlantis.. it's a bit overrated, unless you're under 15.

After finding out that it is 229 buck I think the comfort in will be best. Thanks for advise.

Thanks for posting such great information. I just looked at the comfort suites and found a rate of $126 which includes taxes. Seems pretty good. Only issue is that we'll only be in port from 7AM to 3PM. Would prefer not to get up at the crack of dawn so is it worth it? I suppose we have to leave the Atlantis around 2pm to get back to the ship???

May not be worth it as the slides, etc. do not open until 10am. You will probably need to leave no later than 2pm to get back to the ship in time.

You'll probably need to be back on the ship between 2 and 2:30 so you'd use the slides for about 3 1/2 to 4 hours.

Where do you buy the day pass for ($105) ?

  • 4 weeks later...

Our son will be turning 16 three days before we set sail over Thanksgiving break.

Question in regards to room rate at Comfort Suites.

Can I save us $40 by keeping him under 16 or do you need to have proof our your child's age?

Are the wrist bands all the same color or do they have adult and children colors?

Not trying to cheat anyone but 3 days for $40 extra bucks using the CS room for 4 is a killer in regards to us using that $$ towards the expensive lunches at Atlantis.

Thanks:confused:

Well this is interesting... I just found out the NCL Spirit is dropping GBI from our itinerary and staying overnight in Nassau. We may actually be able to use the room in our CS booking, and get two days of Atlantis for our money. This CS booking just doubled in value.

If anyone else is on the Spirit for August 31 sailing, you might want to look into CS given the extra value now.

I have not been yet, and am booked for Oct 11 with Comfort Suites.

Comfort Suites get paid for rooms that are mostly not used so I am sure they like this arrangement.

We're also booked at CS for Oct. 11. Did you get a good rate? I booked SO rate and will be paying $190(inclusive of all charges) for the two of us. I'll keep checking all options for better deal, but don't feel the $190 is too bad. What ship are you sailing on?
