Jassy Posted September 14, 2013 #926 Share Posted September 14, 2013 Me again. Another popular Seabourn port. One of my personal favorites, too. http://travel.nytimes.com/2013/09/15/travel/36-hours-in-buenos-aires.html?ref=travel&_r=0 Thank you, Jane! This arrives at the perfect time. Buenos Aires is at the top of my bucket list and we will be there this December. Not on Seabourn, alas, but on Regent Seven Seas. Our first cruise on Regent; it will be interesting to see how the two cruise lines compare. Thanks again for all your interesting and informative posts. JaneBP Posted September 14, 2013 #927 Share Posted September 14, 2013 I was on the Pride around SA and there was a private tour option from Ushuia to BA, thereby missing 5 days of potentially wonky seas. Another couple got off and went to Barriloche (or however it's spelled) but I was the only one for BA. Had private tours and wonderful shopping and tango shows and a way too brief overnight at a Polo Ranch with handsome gauchos swaggering about with machetes. Divine. Could stay a week there. It's a long way from Philly. Hope you are there overnight!

Laylam Posted September 16, 2013 #930 Share Posted September 16, 2013 Who did you use for private tours in BA? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD I would have no hesitation recommending Pablo Piera, he was fantastic, speaks fluent English and was great fun. He has a website which has lots of useful tips for planning a stay in B.A. http://www.yourfriendinbsas.com.ar/useful_data_332.htm
JaneBP Posted September 16, 2013 #931 Share Posted September 16, 2013 My private tours, which were private because there were no other Seabournites who opted for this land tour, were arranged by Seabourn and while they were excellent, I didn't keep the information. JaneBP Posted September 27, 2013 #934 Share Posted September 27, 2013 Cinque Terre is a frequent Seabourn stop. Here's info from a blog that I read. Might be helpful to some. http://us.mg205.mail.yahoo.com/dc/launch?.partner=sbc&.gx=1&.rand=1uar9tcrmviqd

JaneBP Posted October 9, 2013 #937 Share Posted October 9, 2013 Here's a link to a blog about Barcelona day trips. Since BCN is a favorite start/stop port for Seabourn, I thought some might enjoy reading about the area if you arrive early or depart after disembarking. http://www.42ndclass.com/day-barcelona-daytrips/
JaneBP Posted October 26, 2013 #938 Share Posted October 26, 2013 Hotels in Rio are often discussed here. It's a popular port; http://www.nytimes.com/2013/10/27/travel/hotel-review-copacabana-palace-in-rio-de-janeiro.html?ref=travel
Winner Posted November 7, 2013 #939 Share Posted November 7, 2013 The Seadream board has a new topic regarding Pam Conover: she has resigned her post of less than a year as president of Seadream. Apparently, as reported in the Norwegian press (also posted in both Norwegian and English) Arne Brynsted has declared bankruptcy for his holdings, which include Seadream. The next few days should be interesting regarding Seadream's future--or non-future.

It would be excellent if Pam Conover came back to Seabourn; I felt that she fitted in with Seabourn much better than Seadream, and was a real asset. lincslady Posted November 7, 2013 #942 Share Posted November 7, 2013 P.S.Just read the latest on the Seadream board - seeming to be perhaps from one of the 'family'? Anyhow, maybe it was just a storm in a teacup, but nevertheless Ms Conover is leaving Seadream.
lincslady Posted November 13, 2013 #943 Share Posted November 13, 2013 Has anyone else noticed the sudden increase in offers on the referral coupon thread??? From different people, apparently, but with a very similar writing style.
Flamin_June Posted July 9, 2014 #944 Share Posted July 9, 2014 (edited) This used to be very much JaneBP's little notice board. Saw this and thought it would be the kind of post she might have made. Something for Seabourn foodies: http://online.wsj.com/article/PR-CO-20140709-908968.html Edited July 9, 2014 by Flamin_June
Joc123 Posted July 10, 2014 #945 Share Posted July 10, 2014 We received an email about this cruise last week. We would love to have done it, but it is just not enough notice for us. I wish it had been announced earlier, or was it and we missed it!
