We went to the ABBA show. The singers were EXCELLENT, but the dancing was lacking. The energy was there and it was great fun to watch and listen to and sing along to. Then the promenade filled with people watching crew sing and dance to 70s music. We were all grooving. Hubby in the casino, I will join him and hope to be in bed by 1.

You went to the Abba show?? I did too last week!! :D I sat in the front row and it was awesome! The sound was great from there. I liked the songs they sang. Mama mia & Dancing Queen was awesome!! Oh & that one MONEY song. LOL, and when the girl picked someone from the audience to sit on her knee.

Tha ABBA show was the only show I saw. Well, I saw part of the ice show but that's it.

Thanks so much for checking on the Let it Ride. We are on the Mariner in September. We will be cruising with our son and future daughter-in-law. We wanted to teach them our favorite game Let It Ride... Glad to hear we can. Thanks for all the posts. Have fun.

Hey everyone!!

Phoenix ~~ Hi!! How are you??? I will NEVER forget that cruise..what a nightmare, it didn't stop me from cruising, but it will stop me from ever doing Bermuda again!!

Donna ~~~So nice to see you here each day!

Andi ~~ I can't get any calls through..I will try tomorrow in Grand Caymen. Blake LOVED the zipline on Labadee, Jess loved the waverunners..he was faster than Harv!!

Diva ~~~ We only go to Barefoot beach, which is the 2nd beach of the left. It is in a cove. It turned out most of our roll call ended up there.

Corbettgirl ~~ty

Cruiseaway ~~~ we were in the front row too!!

sending this so I don't lose it...

 Had to the go to the medic yesterday. I woke up Monday with my eyes irritated, and by nightfall they were almost solid red and hurt. The medical staff was very nice, I have pink eye in both eyes, and was given drops. But the WORSE part is...I CAN"T WEAR MY CONTACTS!!!  I am wearing glasses..I HATE wearing glasses. My eyes are better, but still red. The funny thing is when I went down there, there was a woman waiting too and I thought her eyes looked like mine, but said nothing. I finally asked her if her eyes were irritated and we talked. Turns out, she saw the doc too, she had it too. Hmmmmmmm

So we stayed on the boat today. Woke to my friend from NC (markala) calling me at 7:30...but I didn't jump to get it. When I tried to call her back, I couldn't dial out.

The pool (and ship) were deserted. I went to the solarium about 10:30 and baked for an hour. It was too hot..no breeze. Going to go have lunch in a minute and do some strolling and picture taking. There is a trivia contest I might go to. The night will be long and busy..might need a nap:eek:

Just about to go to the Promenade and get coffee and stroll, but wanted to get in a post, since I am not sure I will be back on till tomorrow. We decided not to eat in the dining room, and booked Portofino for tonight, and switched the Portofino for Fri to Chops again. The reason for not eating in the dinning room tonight is we don't love the menu choices this evening. And we decided to switch Portofino to Chops Fri night, because we are partial to Chops. From dinner we will hit the casino for a bit, then the ice show at 9, then win-a-cruise bingo, then love and marriage show at 10:45, followed by pineapple bar poolside.

I weighed myself this morning before breakfast, and happy to report my weight is the same. I have not been PERFECT on WW, but pretty close.

My husband and I are going on Mariner on July 27th and we have never been to Labadee. We didn't book any shore excursions, but hoped to find a beach to just relax on. Are there beach chairs to rent there or can you offer suggestions on what to do there?

Thanks so much,

Sommer and Mark

Great report. Hope your pinkeye is better. Have had it before.

Is the ship still on a code red alert for norovirus? I know that they were last week and that there was an outbreak the week before that which required an extra cleaning of the ship (that week's passengers were delayed a bit getting on the ship.). Thanks

The island is a great port..you will relax with ease there. You don't have to rent chairs...they are free, but......the locals will rush to carry them for you to whatever spot you want and brush them off too. They really need the money there and tips for doing that is really appreciated (cash only). You can rent the snorkle equipment right there and mats also for floating. All that goes on your sea pass card. My daughter did the Zip Line there, which was awesome, and you can do the Waverunners or Parasailing. You can do many things....or nothing at all!;)

It is interesting that you mentioned that. A few people at the port were discussing it before we left (how did I miss that info??!! lol). I paid it no mind at the time, but that explains a lot because I have to tell you...you can't turn around without a crew member handing you a purell wipe!! No more ignoring the hand sanitizing machine. The crew MAKES SURE you take one...they are everywhere, and mostly handed out....Windjammer, dinning room, Cafe Promenade...handed to you to use. The minute you leave a machine in the casino, they are wiping it down. I applaud their effort....I hope this standard is the constant.

Oh, Denice --- pink eye-- Yuk !

Hope the discomfort goes away, and that it clears up real soon!

So Markalana phoned you.....? You're talking on the phone??

How can you walk by the frozen yogurt machines, without a taste???

Have fun in the casino.

You KNOW we are trying out for it!! Expect for those on my cruise last July, you are a handful of people that I have sent/shown the DVD to. So you KNOW how badly I want to do it again. We had a ball! Of course Drew is not Allen Brookes...(be still my heart).

My eyes are better (you can see some white..I got to tell me, my whites were gone before...just a med shade of red..kind of frightening actually) but still wearing the damn glasses. I was hoping that it would clear fast and I would put a new pair of contacts on for Friday, but not looking so positive about that plan.

There is nothing like an afternoon coffee in the Promenade, a little bit of people watching, and a stroll. I am in the conceirge right now, and they are setting up so I think I may have a few veggies. Don't want to ruin my appetite for my 6pm Porofino dinner.

Hey Donna!!

Miss me????;)

No, I talked to no one today by phone. Markalana called me before we were in port, and woke me, but when I called her an hour later, we were in port and I couldn't call out.

I don't eat frozen yogurt..you like that stuff, not me:D :D

I am more secure about our decision not to take the kids on the Freedom next year (as you know the Mariner is going to Calif, and the Freedom replaces her and we booked it for next July just the 2 of us). My son has only met the 2 kids from our Roll Call, and so thankful for that. They hang all the time, but without them , he would be lost. He has NO problems meeting kids, but his age group is either non-existant here, or they are hiding. My daughter has not met a sole, but she hangs with us or does her own thing, but that can't be that much fun.

DZ,

I am so glad you are enjoying Mariner. We have sailed on her 3 or 4 times and will be sailing again in October. We are going on an Eastern cruise though. My question is do you know which nights the Adventure Ocean kids go to Johnny Rockets? I know you are on a Western cruise, but if it's the two formal nights, I can figure for our cruise but I thought there was a 3rd night. I could be wrong though. Thanks so much.

Thanks for the info on the sanitizing -- that makes me feel like they are working to keep any outbreak from happening or if there are cases, keeping it under control. There were about 10 cases of noro when we sailed Mariner the last time in Jan. 2007. I only know that they had noro because my friend had to go to the infirmiry for a fall. The precautiosn you are experiencing were what we had -- was glad to see them.
