fpcruiser Posted February 7, 2009 #2 Share Posted February 7, 2009 Most spring breaks are between March and April. Someone on here once posted a schedule of college spring breaks.

I can't speak for elsewhere in the country, but here in Indiana you are smack in the middle of high school (not college) spring break season. julia Posted February 7, 2009 #4 Share Posted February 7, 2009 Spring breaks vary all across the nation.... March 29th would definitely be a prime time for spring break cruising. If your cruise is longer than 3-4-or 7 days however, it lessens the college passengers
Arizona Cruz Chic Posted February 7, 2009 #5 Share Posted February 7, 2009 yes I do believe that does fall with in spring break. We did that once....and that was once too many. :D ;) ***

amkras Posted February 7, 2009 #8 Share Posted February 7, 2009 Through March and April many colleges and public schools districts and private schools will be on break. But the peak will most likely be the week before and the week after Easter Sunday, April 12. It will also be passover. I am sure those will be the worst 2 weeks. Unfortunately since I work in a school, That's when I am sailing this year. It's never been a problem for us.
yogimax Posted February 7, 2009 #9 Share Posted February 7, 2009 Although colleges set different dates for spring break, the highest time coincides with Easter, April12th

RoyalCruiser2007 Posted February 7, 2009 #11 Share Posted February 7, 2009 You should be fine in regards to seeing outrageous behavior. The wild spring break crowds seem to prefer Majesty and Monarch over the larger ships. Anyone cruising mid March on Majesty or Monarch is in for a real treat. Those are the wildest spring break cruises of all. Majesty's rating changes to NC-17 that week. It's like a 24-7 gentleman's club.
newbiecruiser09 Posted February 7, 2009 #12 Share Posted February 7, 2009 My guess is you will hit someone's spring break. While many colleges take spring break in March, some elem/high schools do as well. (my nieces in NC had mid March spring break but my kids have April 3-12) Good Luck and have a good trip. honeywell Posted February 8, 2009 #14 Share Posted February 8, 2009 Yes, right in the middle of spring break, but on a very large, very fun ship - you will have a great time!
cb at sea Posted February 8, 2009 #15 Share Posted February 8, 2009 No one pays attention to anyone else---who cares if it's "spring break"---all of March through May is "spring break". Just do your own thing, and enjoy.
gatour Posted February 8, 2009 #16 Share Posted February 8, 2009 Most major colleges on the semester system use the month of March for spring break. you are missing that "rush" but public schools are all over the board and you are still in the season for them. lindnet Posted February 8, 2009 #17 Share Posted February 8, 2009 I booked my Mariner cruise on March 29 as well. When I checked the spring break calendar for the colleges, I saw that while there are a few schools with that week off, it is NOT one of the big college spring break weeks. However, it is spring break for some of the other schools, grade schools and high schools. I think you'll be fine, don't worry about it.

lindnet Posted February 8, 2009 #19 Share Posted February 8, 2009 Here, you can check it yourself. http://www.tripsmarter.com/panamacity/springbreak/sbcalendar.htm Assuming you're worried about the college spring breaks, you can see by that calendar that it's a very small spring break week, compared to the others. bajathree Posted February 8, 2009 #22 Share Posted February 8, 2009 Yes, that is college. That's why I said if he was worried about COLLEGE spring breaks, there wasn't much to worry about. While you will get college kids during spring break no doubt....I wouldn't worry about it so much on RCCL since as long as your on a 7 day venue the entry prices tend to scare that group away and head them over to Carnival where they can smuggle their own boo's aboard and pay $499/person compared to close to twice that on RCCL. Now a 3 day.....thats another story...good luck:rolleyes:
Cruise Lovin' Gal Posted February 8, 2009 #23 Share Posted February 8, 2009 Spring Break for colleges here is a bit earlier -- March 6-14th timeframe. But of course it varies area to area, school to school.

Sorry don24...One of the worst times we had was 75% students spending Dad's money and not knowing how they spent $500.00 on drinks in one night buying shots for thier new friends....Not having a chair at the pool ..I love the kids and have 3 adult kids myself..I know they have not been perfect, but I know they never acted as these kids did on that cruise...Sorry try to have fun.:( If yours is more than 7 days you should be ok.. billyelliot Posted February 9, 2009 #25 Share Posted February 9, 2009 Were on Vision ots. 29th march back to back out of Dominican Republic. Whats our chances of ending up with a ship full of kids? I have to say though, we went last yr on freedom at same time and had no problem, but these boards do scare me sometimes:eek:
