Druke I Posted April 25, 2009 #2 Share Posted April 25, 2009 I don't miss it. I rarely stay up that late, and thought it very wasteful of food.
4everafter Posted April 25, 2009 #3 Share Posted April 25, 2009 not at all! Who could eat that much??? but why can't they have chicken fingers (not drumettes! ) for room service?
GlenandVal Posted April 25, 2009 #4 Share Posted April 25, 2009 no do not miss it at all I wouldnt mind if they did the chocolate buffet jsut once at an earlier time on the Jan 24 2010 Mariener so my chocolate lover mom could enjoy it. But for me eating that late before sleeping just didnt make a lot of sense to me
jules815 Posted April 25, 2009 #5 Share Posted April 25, 2009 I don't. I have really enjoy the poolside buffets that they have mid week though. They're casual; people are dancing and having a good time. :)
SamFritz Posted April 25, 2009 #6 Share Posted April 25, 2009 I've been on four cruises and never made it, so I can't say I miss it. I have apsired to such moonlight madness though, so perhaps I'll miss it as an option.
shelby_36 Posted April 25, 2009 #7 Share Posted April 25, 2009 I went once and it was neat, not tasty, but artistically neat. But I wouldn't miss it, seen it once thats all you need. Carnival had a poolside 11 pm regular buffet the one time we were on there with a little band. It was really nice but I've not seen anything like that on RCCL the pool area is deserted after 10pm
bplazo Posted April 25, 2009 #8 Share Posted April 25, 2009 I am never up at midnight!
luvscruising2007 Posted April 25, 2009 #9 Share Posted April 25, 2009 No, haven't missed it. We have late seating dinner and were always too full to eat anything anyway. I do miss the chocolate buffet though. It would be nice if they brought that back.

Esmerelda Posted April 25, 2009 #12 Share Posted April 25, 2009 Absolutely not....it was a waste of ship's money. There is so much food elsewhere it was quite silly. Besides, I could hardly think about eating at midnight....after realizing on my last cruise I'd gained a mere 6 lbs in 7 days! Yikes... waddle...waddle...;)
firefly333 Posted April 25, 2009 #13 Share Posted April 25, 2009 Nope, been there and didnt want to wait in line and got pizza instead even when I was there and it was set up. I dont like lines.
swcruise Posted April 25, 2009 #14 Share Posted April 25, 2009 It did have a real wow factor to see the artistry of the chefs, but it was a waste of good food as most people there were at 2nd dining and not able to eat anything so soon after dinner... geojobes Posted April 25, 2009 #15 Share Posted April 25, 2009 I usually just took pictures of the food at the preview & maybe ate a little snack. There is so much food around at all hours, there is no need for a big, elaborate buffet. Now, a deck party at night, once or twice with a themed menu is good. That I enjoyed, but I sure didn't need another big meal at midnight!

CruisesOnMyMind Posted April 25, 2009 #17 Share Posted April 25, 2009 We went once in over 20 cruises. Nice to look at! A ton of work went into showcasing! I don't remember eating anything. Midnight is not my time to eat as I am normally sound a sleep, so I do not miss it at all. I bet the staff doesn't either.

trixietx Posted April 25, 2009 #19 Share Posted April 25, 2009 No, we don't miss it. We always went to see it, but didn't eat, or if did not much. After eating dinner, we are not hungry at midnight.

brn2crz Posted April 25, 2009 #22 Share Posted April 25, 2009 I do ...But I miss the ones from long ago..say early 80's... We sailed NCL several times..and they were awesome..Shrimp.steak.Wonderful desserts...More then anyone really needed..But..I was pretty young then...My first in 83..I was a senior in high school...so..We would just stay out in the sun all day....eat the wonderful burgers by the pool, skip dinner...party all night then do the buffet...Man..those were the days! The buffets of today, that were just pretty to look at.No..not at all..
Zigggypup Posted April 25, 2009 #23 Share Posted April 25, 2009 I don't miss it at all. I don't miss it at all. Who needs to be strapping on the feed bag at that hour anyway.
barbie5401 Posted April 25, 2009 #24 Share Posted April 25, 2009 when there was no food available late a night - the midnight buffet was the only place to get something. Glad they are not wasting the food!
kruzerci Posted April 25, 2009 #25 Share Posted April 25, 2009 Do they still have the big late night poolside buffet/party?
