I've really enjoyed looking at these pix. I'll be in Antigua in about 10 days, so hoping to see yet MORE pix!!! Does anyone have any from the produce market, Fig Tree Drive, or Valley Church Beach - or the Bridge itself at Devil's Bridge (assume there's actually a bridge of sorts?)

Does anyone have any from the produce market, Fig Tree Drive, or Valley Church Beach ===> Do you?

- or the Bridge itself at Devil's Bridge ===> Antigua needs your pics!

And where are all the pics you took, while in Antigua??

We've been waiting on them for some time now!!

How come none of the locals (Antiguan) don't jump all over this thread with their pics

to make their island look good? Maybe they don't need to.. :D

Maybe there aren't any local photographers on da islan?

Who knows? Who cares?

Hi. My pictures are here: http://www.pbase.com/roothy123

There are 2 galleries for the Caribbean, so you'll have to look in both - no special order for the second, but in the first, Antigua is maybe a third of the way through. I took a few of the produce market, and I think I posted one, but can't remember. It was not a huge deal, although probably worthwhile to go to, especially if you have more time than I did. I took a couple along Fig Tree Drive, but not sure if they're marked as such. Didn't go to Valley Church or any of the other beaches.

Yes, I love this picture, too. I'm sure it has been taken a million times, but I still love it. What's amazing is that it's not hard to get a great picture there - unless, of course, you have really bad weather.

Here are a couple other pics I don't think I have on my photo site:

Aplmac...I can't say enough about how WONDERFUL your pictures are - if only I had that kind of talent! I'm very much an amateur - I just bought the Lumix FZ35 just because based on what I wanted to spend, my level of knowledge and reviews I read about different equal cameras...that one just seemed to keep coming out on top. ANYWAY...I've never used a polarizing filter and thought maybe I'd try it somewhat on our cruise of the So. Caribbean in two months - any hints/advise? There is sooo much about that camera that I still have to learn! Need a personal photo trainer! Again - your pictures are beautiful - can't wait to get to Barbados and Antiqua - along with the rest of our stops!

Thank you for the kind compliments.

I use far-from-ordinary lenses on my Nikons, to get the shots you see

Glad you got the Panasonic Lumix, though ..because that camera has lenses by Leica

and optix don't get much better than that! :)

Polarising filter? In my experience, these are of limited use, are a bit fiddly

and after a few outings with mine, I 'got over it' and now it collects dust.

If you've bought one already, OK

but if you haven't, hang on to your money for now.

You ask about a personal photo trainer.

So many times, I've thought about doing that for cruisers, when they get to my island

but right now my lil dinky car would need to be upgraded

(to something bigger that would hold two couples, plus me)

in order to comfortably get everyone around.

Still.. send me an email at pcdoctor (at) caribsurf dot com

and let's see what might be arranged?

Hi -

Thanks so much for the info - I had ordered the filter already, so should arrive here shortly, we'll play with it and see what we think, if we don't like it - - there's always Craigslist! Thanks for the "offer"...unfortunately, for our stop on Barbados in April, we are already booked with Shasa, but not sure if it'll be the 3 hour or 5 hour tour that they have - at the time we booked, there were enough for the 5 hour tour, so we're just gonna wait and see! Might have to make a trip back tho, just for some good photo advise! I'll see if I can take any pictures on our stops (Antigua, Barbados, St. Croix, St Lucia, St Maarten)....anywhere CLOSE to as wonderful as yours! Anxious to really use the Lumix - haven't really had a chance to play with it much since I got it in Dec.

Have a great day and keep posting pictures!
