  1. Thanks for taking us along and sharing your insights. Can’t wait to follow a future adventure!
  2. Thanks for taking us along. Comedy should be your side hustle, if it isn’t already.
  3. We have gotten the shareholder benefit on all of our cruises regardless of our existing offer (on board, earlybird, etc.)
  4. Thanks for taking us along, Flossie! What an amazing cultural adventure. Have a wonderful cruise and say hi to David from Bill and I.
  5. We were in Penthouse 743 on Grandeur in January and very rarely heard our neighbors. No more than usual.
  6. This url worked for me. Thanks for posting. https://brochures.rssc.com/view/498991887/3/
  7. On last year’s Grand Asia, we got an invitation once on board for a nice lunch with a Geisha presentation and a sake tasting at an historic property. We cancelled that day’s excursion because this was so much better. Plus our cruise returned to Kobe a couple of weeks later.
  8. Love that they are changing up the menu and offering new items. BUT the fact that the Mushroom soup is no longer on the menu makes me sad. My favorite!
  9. Asking for an extra chair is a great idea. I never thought of that.
  10. This is good advice. Along with a change in the activity level, sometimes they have assigned you a different time than the one for which you signed up. Always check your tickets against your own copy of excursions.
  11. I understand that enrichment speaker Brian Unger and his wife Wendy are joining you for this leg of the WC. He's very entertaining as well as informative. The best speaker I've ever had at sea. Don't miss a lecture and if you do, be sure to watch over the in-house TV. Enjoy!
  12. On the Grand Asia Exploration last year, Explorer docked at Laem Chabang overnight Feb 25-26. We weren't planning to take the 2-hour bus ride into Bangkok but changed our minds at the last minute. And are so glad we did. The Grand Palace was magnificent. Figured we may never get back that way again, so we are happy we went -- exhausted, but happy. Since you'll be in Bangkok early, you may be able to do this in advance without the LONG bus ride. We have friends who did the Sanctuary of Truth and really enjoyed it. We also did the Pattay Floating Market. Not sure I'd recommend it. It's a "created market" for tourists. Bill called it "Disney-fied". 😂 But it had some interesting shops and food stalls. Jealous of your trip this Spring. We LOVED our Asia trip. Fingers crossed you'll see cherry blossoms.
  13. I have had similar experiences (not much activity) on several Regent CC Roll Calls. I suspect it may be because excursions are included. The Roll Calls for other cruise lines we've sailed are filled with folks trying to share excursion prices and excursion information. Just a guess.
  14. We spent 28 days on Grandeur last month and I wholeheartedly agree with your post. Particularly about the excellent Tenderloin Rossini and Ignite the Night. The best I have ever seen on any ship. Thank you and @kjbaconfor your commentary. I've enjoyed traveling with you and can't wait to board Grandeur once again in August for a transatlantice from Barcelona to NYC.
  15. And I love seeing drink servers Dinara and Margarita in your photo. Two of our favorites!
  16. I agree with arriving at 9:15pm AND that this is one of the best production casts I've ever seen. Plus, the new shows are a refreshing change. Marauder's Ball is a fun pirate themed show, which features a ship they build on stage. Loved everything about Grandeur except the theater seating configuration. The middle rows are almost impossible to enter once people sit on the ends. The moveable red chairs butt up against the immovable cocktail tables. I watched people actually climb over and stand on the bench seats to enter the middle seats. 🙂 But usually they stayed empty. Removing cocktail tables from the red-chair-row could be a solution. And possibly installing permanent "cocktail shelves" on the back of the bench seats.
  17. Hi BIll, Here's a contribution for Grandeur 743 -- Penthouse C. This ship is beautiful. Food was outstanding and service amazing. Regent still can't get the theater right -- those damn red chairs and unmovable cocktail tables make certain rows impossible to enter. But that's the only fault we saw. 99% ain't bad. Hope you get to sail her soon. John CC Rating Grandeur 743.xls
  18. Did this last year while on the Grand Asia Exploration. Best snorkeling I have ever done. They have equipment and only use small boats so only 10 passengers or so. Highly recommend.
  19. Actually, we did have an extended lecture on “The Incredible Story of the Panama Canal” by Jeana Rogers on 1/18 at 2pm. Also, the former canal worker who was narrating our crossing had a presentation with Q&A while we crossed Lake Gatun. Sorry you missed it. But I agree we could easily have had several lectures on many aspects of the history and engineering and environment of the canal.
  20. Regarding sound problems, we are also on Grandeur (743) and it hasn’t been a problem. You can hear some occasional mumbling but only rarely. We may have quiet neighbors. 🙂
  21. Thanks for sharing these festive photos. And tell Fabio "hi" from us!
  22. We were on Explorer of 60+ days in Feb-March of this year and found her to be an awesome ship. The public areas are beautiful -- a bity glitzy for our taste but most everying looks like new. Compass Rose was actually our favorite restaurant. Yet we had friends who never wanted to go there a bad experience and visited Sette Mare nearly every night. Different strokes for different folks. The worst problem seemed to be the tiles on the infinity pool kept coming off. The crew worked hard to keep replacing them. Could possibly be why Grandeur doesn't have an infinitiy pool. The crew, entertainment and ports from Sydney to Tokyo were amazing. In many of the Japanese ports, we were the first ship in the port since Covid.
  23. In my experience, La Veranda closes at 2pm and Pool Grill at 4pm.
  24. Awesome. We did Sydney to Tokyo in February/March on Explorer. You'll have an amazing time. Happy to see you'll be going to Hong Kong...it was cancelled on our trip due to increased tension in China.
